B&B LU PARADISU

B&b sulla spiaggia di Capomulini

Lu Paradisu is located in the small seaside town of Capo Mulini, which is a few miles north of Catania. The room we stayed in for six nights was spacious, with a high ceiling. It had a kind of nautical theme with fishing nets and other sea related decorations, which was a nice touch. When we arrived it was very clean and everything worked as it should do. The air-con unit was modern and easy to operate, which was important as it can get very hot and humid. There was also a separate room within our room which had two single beds (in addition to the large double bed in the main area). This would be useful for families with children, or groups of more than 2 travelling together. Outside the room was a patio / seating area with a dining table and sun loungers. We were also free to use this area, which is within the tropical themed garden of the property. The patio seating area was shaded by kiwi vines heavy with fruit, and was a lovely place to eat. Breakfast was a traditional Italian, with cookies, fruit cakes, yogurt, fruit, and homemade banana jam from the banana trees alongside the driveway. Coffee, sweet almond milk and fresh fruit juice to drink. All in all a big breakfast, made with care and attention. We became accustomed to eating lots of sweet delicacies in the morning, by the end of our stay. Tip 1: The best restaurant we ate at in the town was Al Mulino: very fast service, excellent seafood and reasonably priced. The pizzaria nearest the B&B was also excellent. Tip 2: To stock up on water, groceries etc. go to superstore deco, which is on the highway a few minutes drive from the B&B. There are no grocery stores on the main road of the town. Tip 3: Nello is an Etna guide and can organise a trip up the mountain for you. Tip 4: Bring mosquito repellent as there are plenty about. Anywhere in the area is the same in summer, so this is not the fault of the B&B owners. Nets over doors and windows and smoke coils are provided.
