We visited to attend our friend's wedding. The drive from Naples took about an hour an a half and took us through some exciting scenary. The B&B is located in Scala, about 3.5KM north of Ravello, and if my calculations serve me right, is 4 degrees (170Metres) higher than the foot of the mountain. If you're not a a fit person, you will not enjoy the walk back upIf you love peace and queit, along with a serene morning view. 3 of the 4 rooms have a lovely south-western view that stretches as far as the coast (long way, so mostly just blue).The owner is a lovely gentleman, grows his own grapes, tomatoes, parsley, basil, chilli's, etc, and does make a wonderful salad. Across the Road, there is a restaurant, that seems to be relatively popular (we never wen't as we were hosted really well).Nearest bus stop is at the foot of the mountain, and is the bust that goes from Ravello to the almafi coast and back. There are a few stores dotted around the Scala area, but they are mostly local food shops.Mobile coverage is a little dotty in the rooms, but functional if you sit on the balcony. The B&B has a wireless connection run throughout the rooms using power-line, so the signal is excellent in the rooms, but a little weak in the kitchen and living room. The internet service itself did ocassionally cut out during the day and seemed to be failrly okay during the evenings. a 23Mb file took me about 2 minutes to download (for those of you that would like to know how fast). The owner has a laptop, a printer and a land-line (if you want to print boarding passes)The rooms are functional, very clean, well lit, there is enough storage. the shower is lovely (water pressure is just right and the water gets really hot. if you're looking for a place to simply come to sleep in and get on with your daily actities the following morning, you'll be fine. if you're the sleep-in kind of person, maybe not.The owner was aware of the fact that the B&B is located a distance away from Ravello, and was willing to drive us into Ravello every morning (he also did offer to pick us up, but, we thought of finding our own way). Taxis from ravellow, cost about 35 euros, and you can take the bus from Ravello to Scala and walk up the mountain.The owner doesn't speak English (and most people around Scala don't), so brush up on your italian or make sure you have a way of translating (we used Google translate's offline mode).All in all, a lovely, simple, and no-fuss B&B. I'd definitely go back.
