EGG Pasta Fresca

The best pasta we have ever eaten anywhere so far. We went back for an additional pasta just in a couple of hours to make it before closing time since we were flying out the next day. We regretted not having tried the pasta here earlier on in our Rome trip. You must try the Tonarelli Cacio e pepe with the truffle (they charge a very acceptable premium of just €8 to add truffle to the select pastas on offer). We also loved the Amatriciana and Carbonara. My favourite cacio e pepe and carbonara in our fortnight long vacation, now you know that we’ve tried a good number of places before this. The host is a very humble, kind, professional gentleman. Their cook is super fast, though the place is small, it’s very hygienic as you can see the entire kitchen. They off good amount of cheese toppings and for additional cheese it’s again a very very reasonable amount of €0.50. The place is quite eco friendly as they don’t serve in plastic containers to sit or to go. My pictures definitely don’t to justice to how good everything tasted. My verdict is that this is a must try pasta place for anyone who visits Rome. Their local beer options are also great, the host suggested Messina beer and we loved it. Cost for two with beer will be less than €15 without alcohol, with beer it will be less than €20. This is very nominal for the 5 star service they offer. If you go for the pasta with truffle you can add €6-8. We will definitely go back here on our next Rome trip.

The service was great. Very friendly and answered questions with a smile. Lots of great choices. The pasta was amazing. We got the cacio e pepe and Carbonara.

Pasta all'uovo buonissima, condimenti succulenti e abbondanti, prezzi onesti per un piatto completo.Da provare assolutamente la pasta all'Alfredo (la versione italiana vera, non americana) con burro e parmigiano a volontà: stupenda e senza parole!Piccolo locale con una dozzina di posti fuori e dentro. Molta gente all'ora di punta quindi si aspetta un po' e non ci sono abbastanza posti ma si aspetta volentieri e si mangia anche sui gradini delle scalinate a fianco.

Great food , great prices , friendly owner. Outdoor seating available . We tasted the white sauce and the red sauce pasta and both were very tasty. It may get crowded during peak times so expect some wait times

Unsure what all the fuss and hype is about. Average pasta at best. Hygiene questionable. Didn’t even let us sit outside as two customers but did let others share tables. Poor hospitality. Won’t be coming back.

This tiny hole in the wall serves some amazing pasta! I got the carbonara and it was absolutely legit. Cost 8 euro can’t go wrong. It was recommended by a local, if you are headed to the Vatican please stop off here.

What a gem! Small with just a couple of outside tables and some chairs inside BUT amazing pasta and great service. Everything we had was delicious! And, it is conveniently close to the Vatican. Definitely on my list for the next visit!

This was the best meal we had in Rome and probably one of the more reasonably priced.. It was out of the way, in an unexpected alley beside the Vatican and it was so delicious! They also have WiFi and most of the seating is outside other than a couple of high chairs inside.

Went here cause of the reviews and ordered gricia and bolognese. No meat in the bolognese whatsoever. Pasta was CONFIDENTLY aldente (borderline parboiled). The pasta did not taste fresh at all. Cherry on top was lukewarm beer. Overall disappointed and would not recommend.

The pasta at this place was out of this world! Small unassuming place, much loved by locals, as far as I could tell. Will most certainly be back on my next visit to Rome!
