Castello Banfi - Wine Resort

Castello in posizione panoramica in una delle più belle valli del Brunello. Servizio di lusso con 14 camere prezzo sui 600 / 700 euro e più a secondo del periodo e dimensioni. Ristorante stellato con menu degustazione e vini a euro 200,00 a persona, prezzo adeguato al livello della cucina e del servizio. Camere spaziose, pulizia impeccabile. Luogo molto tranquillo. Strada provinciale per arrivare da Montalcino dissestata, andare piano; sconsigliato arrivare di notte.

Old and badly maintained wines served for tasting. No passion nor charisma displayed throughout the tour.We understood Banfi is a money machine, go to Frescobaldi for an unforgettable tasting experience: better prices and way better wine quality. Banfi just cares about the money, would never order their wines.

An amazing old winery crowning a castle that’s probably over a 1000 years old. The castle and the vineyard are very well taken care of and are one of the most beautiful and exquisite in all of Tuscany. A must visit whenever you’re in Tuscany. The food is five stars.

Il castello, con il museo del vetro e la sala degustazione vini, adiacente al castello, assieme al panorama che si gode, rendono il tutto molto affascinante. Mai provato il ristorante o il resort, ma tutte le volte che mi trovo nelle vicinanze mi regalo una visita.

I did not stay here but came for the wine tasting and dinner. We wanted to book the wine tour but unfortunately it was full. Instead we decided to do the reserve wine tasting before dinner. You get four different pours. Lisa was our sommelier and she was amazing. She’s so knowledgeable and a joy to talk to. If the review was just of the wine tasting and Lisa it would have been five stars easily!The dinner was a five course set meal. Dinner started at 7:30 and the the service was very attentive at first but I was surprised how long it was. We didn’t get our dessert until almost 11:00pm based on how the courses came out. Waiters also started disappearing slowly. Food was good but some dishes wasn’t quite there for me.

We did not stay at the hotel, we stopped in to taste the wines and they did not disappoint. We tasted over 10 wines (white, red, and sparkling) and ended up purchasing about 8 bottles.We discovered that our palates prefer the Super Tuscans over the Chianti Classicos. I also love sparkling wines, and we purchased the Rose, and the brut.All wines were very reasonably priced compared to French and Napa Valley wine prices.

Absolutely amazing visit at Castello Banfi Il Borgo. The rooms were beautifully updated rooms in an old Tuscan castle. The room was incredibly spacious, upgraded with modern amenities but kept the Tuscan charm. The property was very private and quiet but with amazing views of Montalcino. Electric bikes were available for free to tour through the vineyards. Free tasting and tour of Banfi is available to all guests. The pool was lovely, heated and with amazing views. The on-site restaurants were great. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I don't know if I have a single complaint about our stay, except that it wasn't long enough.

Fantastic lunch at Castello Banfi. It's a 4-course menu where you'll have a chance to try four wines from the winery. The food was excellent, and the wine was terrific. The Brunello is excellent. Recommend spending an afternoon there where you can have lunch and get to know the nearby winery.
