Montese Cooking Experience - Cooking classes in San Gimignano

This was one of the top experiences during our trip to the Tuscan region. We were a group of 9 and Mauro welcomed us as if we were old friends and his passion for cooking showed. We did the pasta making class where he taught us how to make various types of pasta where we used them in a ravioli with butter and sage, and also a bolognese. We made the best bread we had on our trip and an amazing tart. This was also one of our favorite meals on our trip. I highly recommend! Thank you Mauro for many laughs and such a great experience!

To say we had a fun time is an under statement! Not to mention that the setting is absolutely magnificent, couldn't ask for a better view! Had an absolute blast, Mauro is a born entertainer, food was great and wine was flowing. So glad to have had this experience and cannot recommend enough!!

Had an amazing time with my wife and ten other very pleasant people for their pasta making class. We were immediately offered a glass of wine while we waited for the other guests to arrive. (The last couple of miles of the route were a little rocky but trust the instructions he provides.)Once everyone arrived, we started making each course along with Mauro and Alberto. We made two types of breads, pasta, ravioli, a wonderful tomato based sauce, bacon wrapped pork loin, and a berry jam tart which was the perfect ending to the meal. We continued conversing well after the meal with Mauro and his team and the other guests. 100% would recommend to anyone staying in the San Germignano/Monteriggioni region.

Cooking with Mauro and Alberto was so, so fun! One of the best cooking classes we have ever taken. Mauro is talented and patient, and taught us how to cook many different authentic Tuscan dishes. Their love for cooking and warm Tuscan hospitality -- we will be back next time we visit the region. Highly recommend.

The cooking class was one of the highlights of all of Italy. Mauro is an excellent chef and teacher. He makes you feel like you are cooking with a group of friends and makes sure your wine glass is never empty.We made delicious bread, gnocchi, ravioli, pork loin roast, pasta ragu, and tart. The scenery was amazing! I would highly recommend this cooking class.

“Mi casa es su casa” is displayed on a plaque hanging outside the entrance of Montese cooking experience kitchen. Mauro, Alberto and Margarite truly made us all feel welcome and at home as we prepared several delectable Italian dishes! Our outdoor cooking area overlooked the rolling Tuscan hills planted with vineyards and olive trees as far as the eye can see. This cooking experience was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Italy. Together with Mauro and Alberto’s expert guidance, we prepared home made bread, ravioli, tortellini, tagliatelle and gnocchi. We made a scrumptious bolognese sauce with beef, sausage and aromatic veggies to serve with the pasta. Homemade pesto was served on the gnocchi and we also made a melt-in-your mouth pork loin, rubbed with herbs and garlic and wrapped in bacon. We made a delightful fruit tart and tiramisu for dessert. My husband and I, along with our son and daughter in law were joined with 5 other people from other countries with whom we all worked together seamlessly. As we joined together to share in the meal we all prepared, we felt like family. What a wonderful time we had! We now have the skills to make these authentic dishes at home and have already done so with success! Many thanks to Mauro and Alberto! We think of you (and quote you!) EVERY time we knead and work our pasta dough!
