90% of five stars given by local guides!!!!You will not get to taste real wines in the region.The WORST WINE not to mention the winery and attitude of the servers l have ever experienced in the last 15 years of traveling to wineries around the world.I recently visited the winery with a sommelier wanting to taste good Amarone from the Verona region. A friend told me that she visited there 5 months ago. She also said that time they had a fire in the building and they were doing the tastings outside and was a bit cold. She is a typical tourist from the US who didn’t have much experience with wine and tastings. She said that they were served food with wine.Our expiations were high with what our friend said about her experience here.The moment they realized we are experienced wine drinkers they panicked. Moreover we just drove in without being part of a typical tour so they approached our appointment quite strange.Fist they said they don’t have seats cos they had a fire 3 days ago and their seating outside is limited. I was wontif they say this FIRE story to everyone! Then they said their wines are selling out faster so we wouldn’t be able to ship to US. We still insisted a tasting and then the owner walked in with a price list for a glass or bottle. We were confused and asked for tasting before buying and they said that’s how they do business….,we have to buy 3-4 glasses for total of €40.Then we showed our industry license and told them that’s not how wine TASTING should be done and insisted to taste 2 wines.THESE WERE THE MOST HORRIBLE WINES WE EVER TASTED. The tastes were like they wash the bottom of the barrel and serve to these tourist. When asked why the wines taste so flat and acidic which is uncommon for Amarones they said the their wines are so high quality that only sophisticated wine pallet can only taste it…..lolLooking around we figured they got the meaning of the word sophisticated all wrong with all those groups of 10-15 tourists led by Italian guides being served with their wines. BTW no one were tasting the wines rather were buying a glass and eating their bread and cheese.This is a very touristic place but also sadly serving washed out wines to rather vulnerable tourists.Please be aware!

Tenuta Santa Maria is located in the historic Villa Mosconi Bertani property. The birthplace of the Amarone wine.The winery is owned by the Bertani Family, and offers guided tours throughout the year. The tours include a visit to the Villa, the Park, the vineyards, the cellars.For the wine tasting, several options are available. For the budget-conscious the winery offers a tasting of and IGT wine and Soave. Those who want a special experience can try different vintages of Amarone and Decima Aurea Merlot.

Un luogo meraviglioso, ricco di storia arte, ma soprattutto di vino fantastico. Belle le cantine, bello il parco, bella la villa rinascimentale. Ottimo il vino, Valpolicella ed Amarone su tutto. Se vi capita di passare da quelle parti, non potete non fermarvi.

Una dimora storica che arricchisce ancora di più il valore di vini tradizionali veronesi fatti con passione. Una location più unica che rara dove arte natura e passione per il vino si fondono per regalare agli avventori qualcosa di straordinario.

Un bellissimo viaggio nel tempo all’interno della tenuta, dove abbiamo visitato la villa Mosconi Bertani, in stile palladiano, il meraviglioso parco e la cantina, dove nacque nientepopodimeno che il vino Amarone. Gentilissima la ragazza che ci ha guidati nella visita. Abbiamo inoltre apprezzato l’accortezza nell’offrire ai visitatori dei proteggi scarpe per visitare il parco, data la giornata piovosa. Non potevamo che concludere la visita con la degustazione degli straordinari vini proposti. Personalmente mi sono innamorata del Ripasso 2017, un’elegante vino affinato per 20 mesi in botti di rovere dalle note di ciliegia, prugna secca, spezie, liquirizia e ribes...14,5 gradi di estasiante bontà!

Una piacevolissima visita ad uno degli innumerevoli tesori architettonici che il territorio Veneto possiede.Eccellente la guida e relativa spiegazione per la lavorazione del vino prodotto.Un solo appunto, la Villa meriterebbe di poter visitarla in più ambienti, il solo salone principale e tutto il parco all'esterno sebbene quest'ultimo sia un incanto, opinione mia sembra voler mettere in secondo piano una dimora veramente molto, molto bella.

One might get the impression by looking at the pictures of the marketing/website that it is a high-end wine tasting experience…In comparison to other wine tasting experiences I was actually a bit chocked about the state of the wine glasses that were used (see pics).Other than that detail, both me and my mother were a bit disappointed of the experience in general.What I personally think bothered me the most was that both the English and Italian speaking groups were bundled into a total of 20 people.This resulted in first having to listen to Italian approx. 50 % of the time before the guide started to talk in English. Once the English part started some of the Italians couldn’t refrain from talking to each other, disturbing the English speakers.Considering that we paid 44 € for the two of us (excl. food) I would have expected not having to listen to Italian just for the sake of the organiser making their tours more cost-efficient, “squeezing in” two languages into one group instead of keeping them separated.Less work for the organiser, less positive customer experience for their visitors.I also thought the place as a whole didn’t look as looked after as on the pictures used in their marketing.During the tasting the guide wasn’t able to show the material she wanted on the tv (lacking WiFi-connection). No printed material was handed out. This could have been an alternative/plan B to be used. (My mother managed to find a brochure on her own).At the end of the tasting it wasn’t really clear to me when the tasting was finished. Last thing I noted was the guide leaving the room in a phone call.In total when driving home… I am sorry to say I had a feeling we could have had spent the afternoon in a better way.
