Techra Carbon Drumsticks

Very durable and very great feeling pair of sticks

Both of my hands have nerve damage, so trying to hold sticks that vibrate is difficult and sometimes painful. I discovered Techra about 3 years ago. I started with the original Supergrip 5a’s, but have since switched to the XCARB Supergrip 5a’s. The foam core in the sticks eliminated all the vibrations I struggled with for years. These are the best sticks I’ve ever owned!

Dopo anni ed anni ad usare bacchette in legno (come tutti) qualche mese fa scopro il marchio Techra e, incuriosito ma scettico allo stesso tempo, acquisto un paio di Colossus e di Black Diamond. Temevo avessero un feeling diverso e che prima o poi sarei tornato al legno. Non è andata così. Due mesi, oltre 50 concerti, sala prove... le mie Colossus sono leggermente consumate nella parte alta per l'impatto con i piatti, ma IMMACOLATE nella zona rimshot, che è sempre stato il punto per me più soggetto ad usura con il legno. Il peso, per i due modelli che ho acquistato, è in linea con quello di una classica 5A in legno. Il feeling è ottimo, bilanciato e consistente. Con il legno, via via che le bacchette si usurano, sembra di suonare ogni giorno con delle bacchette diverse. Adesso questa sensazione è un ricordo lontano! A proposito del suono sul bordo del rullante e sui piatti: io lo definisco leggermente diverso, ma non in senso negativo. Alla fine anche cambiando marchio di bacchette, a parità di modello, otterremo un suono diverso dal nostro Ride, quindi è un problema che non si pone a mio avviso. Credo sia una questione puramente soggettiva. In definitiva, consiglio a tutti i di provarle! Sono sinceramente colpito dal prodotto, era da tempo che non ero così felice di impugnare un paio di bacchette. Non dimentichiamo che la lunga durata di queste bacchette aiuta il vostro portafogli e anche l'ambiente! Tra l'altro Techra è un'azienda italiana, si può desiderare altro?

Tried to contact them with a question about recycling and sustainability and the website tells me I am blacklisted.Update: Contacted them per request and they told me that I am actually black listed. No explanation offered. I asked if they could explain how this happened, because I have never been to their website before or had any prior dealings with them. There has been no answer and no attempt to work with me to resolve the issue. Disappointing as I would have really liked to have become a customer.

First, I am not a formally trained drummer. I learned by being around pro drummers and applying it to my caveman style of playing. I would typically go thru a set of wooden 5A drum sticks every two or 3 weeks playing carefully( I usually only rehearse once a week or so) and I would easily pay for 12-15 sets of sticks yearly. I was skeptical since they seemed reasonably priced. I ordered (3) XCarb - 5A sets, with shipping and discount, came to $68 USD. Received them at the end of April 2023. My 1st pair of sticks are still in fantastic shape. There is a slight difference in the timbre of the stick when hitting a drum especially a rim knock on the snare but if you can get past that, you're golden. If you're a stick breaker like me, I highly recommend these sticks!

Sticks feel great and shipped very quickly (from Italy to central US in 2 days!). Can't comment on longevity just yet, but the models I received (Carbon Pro 7A, XCarb 7A, and Hammer Of The Gods 5B) all feel very solid and play pretty nice in my opinion. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of their lineup.

Per il momento ho preso il modello COLOSSUS e le ho trovate eccezionali.

effetivamente non danno le vibrazioni del legno. a livello sonoro le sto ancora provando, per sentire il suono,comunque ben bilanciate sono ottime.

Da quando ho iniziato ad usare le x-carb progrip non ho più avuto problemi di tendinite e dolori alle mani. Perfette sotto ogni aspetto. Leggere, resistenti, bilanciate, comode. Mai più senza.
