VILLA LE TORTORE TUSCANY

Our family of four (two adults, two teenage daughters) have recently returned from a happy and hot August week staying at Le Tortore on the edge of stunning Siena. After the two hour drive from Pisa airport, we were warmly welcomed by the host with gifts of tomatoes, cucumbers and aubergines from his vegetable garden as well as a delicious spread of other local treats to get our holiday off to a flying start! The villa is set on the family's estate, surrounded by olive groves and cypress pine trees, but within 15 minutes walk of the bustling heart of Siena. Inside, the rooms are attractively furnished with antique pieces, and the efficient modern air con in the two bedrooms was much appreciated as the temperature never dropped below 30 degrees all week. The kitchen is well appointed with everything needed for cooking and we all enjoyed sitting outside for meals on the shady terrace area. And what an incredible view from the bathroom! However, it is the stunning private swimming pool that made the holiday for us, with its sweeping views across the Tuscan countryside to the south. Using Le Tortore as a base, we thoroughly enjoyed walking into Siena, climbing Le Torre Mangia, marvelling at the richly decorated Duomo and exploring the mysterious shaded streets, hung with flags following the second Palio horserace which had taken place just before we arrived. Make sure you try the ice creams - huge, rich and delicious! Abbiamo soggiornato per una settimana a Villa Le Tortore, l'accoglienza e la gentilezza dei proprietari è stata veramente soddisfacente! Al nostro arrivo ci hanno fatto trovare anche un aperitivo con prodotti tipici locali! E questo non è scontato! Che dire della Villa, assolutamente un posto dove si ritrova la serenità e la tranquillità della mente e del corpo! La piscina ad uso esclusivo è stata un vero toccasana per tutta la famiglia, con un panorama sulle terre di Siena, e dalla Villa si vede invece la città di Siena, vista mozzafiato.Tutto l'arredo sia all'interno che all'esterno è curato nei minimi dettagli, con gusto e mirato al relax. Abbiamo usufruito anche del campo da tennis, che ho trovato personalmente un diversivo molto gradito, oltre alla piscina. La posizione è top perché è si trova a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro di Siena. Conclusioni: luogo incantevole, proprietari carinissimi e disponibilissimi, posizione TOP, insomma spero di tornarci presto!!

We want to thank the owners of the incredible Villa I Cipressini for their timely responses and superb service in dealing with our family and our reservation to Tuscany in the midst of the COVID pandemic. The Villa clearly is a spectacular property in a spectacular location and we are so depressed that we can't come to celebrate our Mother's 70th birthday in Pienza . We are already beginning to make family plans to reserve two weeks at the Villa next year knowing both the superb property but in addition the terrific managers/owner of the Villa. Again we are so appreciative of their flexibility in giving us a full refund due to COVID cancellation- we look forward to next year in Tuscany!!

We visited Siena during our vacation to Italy last year and stayed at the villa. We were greeted warmly with a wonderful spread of cheeses and breads etc upon arriving. The villa was warm and inviting and very comfortable. It was a great stay.

The loveliest owners and a sweet property with a stunning view from the pool. You need to walk around to the back of the main house to access the pool but the walk is less than 50 m through a lovely garden and once at the pool your heart will soar! It is great and once cool stroll up the hill to Sienna. There are shops and restaurants right near the closest gate. I loved it.

We had a lovely stay at Villa Le Tortore beginning of July 2020. We arrived late in the afternoon and were nicely surprised by the food and drink gifts. The house has everything to spend holidays like we did with our family of two children. The entrance to the estate was impressive, but the view from the bathroom to the hill of Siena was really amazing. We walked uphill to the town of Siena in just 10 minutes. We also visited nearby medieval towns like Volterra, San Gimignano, Pienza and Montepulciano and drove by car in the wonderful nature of Crete Senesi. We would definitely like to come back during summertime to use the swimming pool and enjoy the view to the other side. We highly recommend the place for people who like a clean and well equipped house located in the centre of Toscany. Many thanks and see you soon!

Amazing place, very close to the square.we were received in the house with very big table with food.the owner is very kind, the house is very clean and very good smell. The swimming pool is fabulous anxious to see the part where we can play tennis.

Our best holiday ever. The villa, the pool, the tennis court, the facilities, the location, the family who deal with you, the communications and the surroundings are all amazing and perfect.
