One od the best wineries in the region! Chianti classico olé! We love their Retromancia and also all more complex wine, you cannot miss by choosing any! Go for it, really. Also the view and the service around is just superb. The wine here is not overpriced as we've seen in other places. We have been here three or Four Times in last six years and always leaving with moře than four sixpacks of bottles!

Certainly the biggest lack of respect we experienced in Chianti. We came to visit the domaine that looked incredible but when we tried to introduce ourselves to the lady managing the winery, she did not even take the Time to say hello or even to look at us. She was with people but clearly heard us as even her clients looked at us and seemed surprised she did not even looked at us. We understand the times are busy, but show some respect to the people that took the time to come to your domaine.

Wonderful scenery and wine! Michael was very kind, informative and is clearly a master of his task. He explained the science, the current challenges and the local background of the vineyards here in a very interesting and understandable way. The wine was great too, I’m not usually a fan of red wine but these were great! I would recommend this to anyone with either basic or extensive knowledge on wine, we were a mixed group and all had a lovely experience. Thank you Michael!

MB was a treat to visit in Tuscany. Our tour with Chiara was lovely (and intimate, which was a plus). We purchased a case immediately after the tour and have been long distance lovers of the Retromarcia for years.

Abbiamo partecipato a un tour con degustazione con Michael, il winemaker dell'azienda vinicola. Spiegazioni chiare, interessanti e degustazione di qualità. L'azienda, poi, è immersa in un paesaggio da favola. Ottimi vini, prezzi onesti. Chiara gentilissima e molto disponibile. Senza dubbio consiglio la visita a Monte Bernardi.

My brother and I signed up for a virtual wine tasting with Michael Schmelzer having come across him in a Biodynamic wine-making course. We were based in the UK so we ordered some wines ahead of time and they arrived quickly. On the night - samples opened! - Michael took us for a virtual tour of Monte Bernardi with an in-depth look at his biodynamic farming processes and tasting notes to accompany the wine. The wine was delicious and Michael a very engaging speaker and we thoroughly enjoyed the session leaving us with the desire to visit Monte Bernardi in person in the future.

worth the trip! I had the joy of meeting Chiara and Michael for an informative chat about biodynamic winemaking and vineyard care. It was approachable to understand and gave me deep appreciation for the craft and the talent of this winery. The wines themselves are stunning encapsulations of true Chianti. If you love natural wine and care where your food and drink come from, Monte Bernardi is a must to visit.

What a lovely winery. It came recommended to us by the master sommelier at Frasca in Boulder, CO and it couldn't have been better. Our host Chiara was so knowledgable and accommodating, and the tasting was wonderful. Our group purchased several cases for shipment back to the US, which arrived very shortly after we returned home. Recommend it highly!

Four of us had a wonderful visit on 29 July. Monte Bernardi really is an authentic Chianti Classico winery, producing wines of quality and elegance which are true to the region. The setting is lovely and we were shown great hospitality. We will be back. Thank you.

We loved our morning at Monte Bernardi! The staff, especially Chiara, were incredibly welcoming and knowledgable about both their wines and vineyards. The tour was fascinating and included the vineyards and cellars, we will definitely visit again!The vines are beautifully-set against the Tuscan hills, and we had the opportunity to sample, and purchase, four of their fantastic wines. Would recommend this highly.
