Wow.A incredible day with an exuberant guide/host Alessandro, and some truly fabulous traditional Italian specialty foods.Getting up early to go on this tour to see Parmigianino Reggiano being made was well worth the effort. Early-risers are rewarded with a tasty breakfast that includes ricotta made fresh that morning - and a few glasses of Lambrusco. (Hey! You're on vacation, right?!)Follow that immediately with an in-depth tour and tasting of another tasty and unique Italian treasure - Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale DOP. Not just a tradition, this stuff is a labor of love and it's production borders on alchemy.Next comes a very in-depth look into the production of Prosciutto and related cured Italian meats. Being guided step-by-step through the processes of all of these products is enough to make you hungry for a taste - and you won't be disappointed! Oh - a few more glasses of great local wines are offered as well. Finally - after getting to taste several variations of Parmigianino Reggiano, Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale, and Prosciutto - you move on to (wait for it ....) LUNCH!You're kidding, right?! Nope!A great lunch with handmade tortellini and -frankly - more dishes than I can recall - and three or four MORE wines - all served until you can't eat another bite. (Several members of our but tour snoozed on the ride back to the hotel!)This really is a great tour and you WILL NOT leave hungry! Thanks Alessandro for showing us your passion for these incredible Italian foods and for making the effort to arrange such great tours!

HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST TOUR BOLOGNA! CANNOT MISS IT! i thought it was expensive at first but after everything, the experience they give you and everything they provide you is worth the money.Alessandro, the tour guide was very very knowledgeable and very passionate about the factory productions. All three factories were so amazing and the knowledge that they give you is so educational and interesting if you have a passion for food! The whole tour and experience is a very unique and I cannot imagine nothing like it anywhere. There is so much wine tasting and so much food! SERIOUSLY SO MUCH FOOD THEY GIVE YOU. Breakfast was very filling a lot of different stuff you drink wine with everything and espresso if you like. The wine glass never goes empty.Lunch was very delicious and all the different pasta you can eat is very filling, we ended up skipping dinner with how much they fed us LOL.Very Good value for your money and it is so much worth it.

Cannot recommend this tour enough! My fiancee and I booked the day tour from Bologna. A driver picked us up from our hotel early in the morning and drove us to the Parmigiano Reggiano factory where we met our amazing tour guide, Alessandro. Alessandro is truly an amazing tour guide! His personality had the entire group smiling and laughing the entire day. He knows his stuff and the tour was quite informative. Throughout the day we sampled different types of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Balsamic Vinegar, & Prosciutto. Everything was delicious! After the tours we went to a great small restaurant and had a feast. We really enjoyed this tour and loved every part of it. Alessandro was absolutely wonderful and he was a big reason why we had such a great day!

One of the best European tours we have ever taken! Our guide Alessandro was knowledgeable and personable as was our wonderful driver Roberta. Left from a convenient location in Bologna, and traveled first to San Silvestro Parmigino-Reggiano factory to learn and watch the process of making the world famous cheese. Next it was on to balsamic vinegar producer Acetaia Cavedoni to learn every step of the family’s production process and sample vinegars that are up to 30 years old. Here we were treated to a delicious breakfast of meats, cheese, and baked goods. Ended at a prosciutto factory and unbelievable family-style lunch with delicious wine pairings. Great cultural learning experience, it is a day we will always cherish!

It has been nearly a decade since we went on the Italian Days Food Experience, but it's still something I think about regularly. It was such a special experience - one I hope to experience again! Alessandro was the most exuberant guide I've ever encountered - it was clear he was passionate about the food! The Parmigiano Reggiano was out of this world, as was the prosciutto and balsamic. My husband most loved the meal we all ate together at a small restaurant. He still brings it up regularly as one of the best meals of his life! Our day on this tour was magical and memorable. I absolutely recommend it to anyone! I'd even recommend going out of your way to take this food tour - it's definitely worth it!

We had an amazing time with Alessandro and all of the people that work so hard to put this tour together. We learned so much about the Emilia-Romagna region, Italian culture, Italian food. We got to see how the real Parmigiano-Reggiano is made, taste the world's best Balsamic vinegar at a local family-run farm and vineyard, tour a prosciutto factory. Then it was time for a wine tasting and all the pasta you could eat! It was a wonderful experience and we would recommend this tour to anyone who loves culture, history and of course authentic Italian food!

I took the Bologna Food Experience tour with Italian Days in July. I left a review on Viator after the tour but the tour was so perfect, that 2 months later I am still thinking about it. So I am putting the review on google too. The day was perfect and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It was truly amazing to see how much information Alessandro knew about everything. He was so passionate about what he was telling us that it made it so fun to listen to him speak! Touring the parmigiano reggiano and prosciutto factories were definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Breakfast was a feast and it was at the acetaia, which we got to tour immediately after breakfast and sample their balsamic vinegars. There are opportunities to buy products and they do take credit cards by the way. The second feast of the day was lunch. It was in a fun room attached to the prosciutteria and it was absolutely superb! The wine, pasta, and prosciutto kept flowing!!! You will leave this day with a full and happy belly. Do yourself a favor and book this tour! Don’t even second guess anything- just book it! You will be so happy you did.
