STEP - Siracusa Trekking Experience Project

Mitte November 2022 besuchten wir erstmals Sizilien. Da ich am 15. November Geburtstag habe, beschenkte mich mein Mann mit einer Trekking-Tour zum Ätna. Es war das Highlight unserer Urlaubswoche. Unser Führer, Federico, war nicht nur sehr sympathisch, sondern er überraschte uns auch mit seinem umfangreichen Wissen über die Natur und die Geschichte der Insel und des Vulkans. Und weil uns dieser Tagesausflug so gut gefallen hat, haben wir direkt drei Tage später die geführte Wanderung mit Federico durch die Cava-Grande Schlucht unternommen. Auch dafür ein riesiges Lob und Dankeschön für den herrlichen Ausflug.

We were really lucky to find our guide, Federico, via the Tourist Office in Syracuse. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and really looked after us. We booked him for a day trip (including transfers) to Etna from Siracusa. He chose a path that was delightful and un-touristy, full of variety and with surprisingly varied vistas and terrains. Our group (2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 15) really loved it, and we'd never have found this path nor explored this section without him. We felt safe and looked after. And Federico is a great source of really expert, interesting information about Etna. It was a very memorable day! Thoroughly recommended!

Federico ist ein sehr guter Guide mit großem Wissen über Flora und die Geschichte von Pantalica. Er ist sehr umsichtig, geht auf alle Fragen ein. Das Verhältnis zwischen Information geben und dann wieder in Ruhe marschieren ist optimal ausgewogen. Kann ihn absolut weiterempfehlen.

We have had a super interesting tour with Federico trough the Pantalica valley. I did this tour with my son (13y).We did learn a lot about history and the nature in this region and enjoyed every minute of our tour. One higlight for us has been the swimming stop at the river.As we will come back to sicily we yet planned to do an other tour with Federico, because he is a fantastic guide! Thank you Federico!

We spent a wonderful day with Federico in the Pantalica protected park. He found just the right terrain for our mixed-ability group and his explanations of the flora and archeology were most enlightening. This excursion was a highlight of our week in Sicily.

Très belle expérience réalisée en Octobre sous un très beau soleil méditerranéen. Nous recherchions une rando dans la réserve de Cavagrande et ne connaissant pas trop le secteur nous avons vu plusieurs spot de randonnées à faire seul mais à nos propres risques. En effet sur certaines voies si vous vous blessez les frais de secours seront à votre charge. Nous avons voulu jouer la sécurité et bénéficier également d'un service tout en un. Frédérico est d'une approche très bienveillante, parle parfaitement anglais et un amoureux de sa région.Nous avons eu de nombreuses explications sur la géologie ainsi que sur la faune et la flore locale ayant même découvert que le safran poussait partout à cette époque. L'eau était fraiche mais nous avons pique niqué vers une piscine naturelle magnifique.Frédérico nous a récupéré à Siracuse et nous y a ramené. Je recommande. Rando en famille sans trop de difficultés pour les habitués, prêts de bâtons de marche. Merci

We really enjoyed the Vendicari Tour with Federico. He knows a lot about the region, including the fauna and flora, and transmits this information in a very pleasant way. He was also very accomodating regarding time and details of the tour. Thank you very much for this pleasant experience.
