This charger doesn't accept the card that I can use almost everywhere else in Europe. Registration with their own app is necessary and this takes about half an hour. At one point, the procedure seemed stuck (the 'next' button didn't turn green and could not be pressed after filling out all the address details), but after waiting a few minutes, when we were about to give up, it suddenly did, and we could proceed. Adding a payment option was easy (credit cards or Paypal). Then, like Enrico pointed out (thanks!) it is necessary to first pick a charger in the app using the QR code and only then attach the cord. I was unpleasantly surprised by the cost (twice that of Tesla superchargers), and I found the registration procedure unwieldy, and I would have preferred to use the card I always use for charging, which is why I am deducting stars. But in the end, it worked.
