Cooking Mama Sorrento
Such a beautiful experience!! The kindest most thoughtful mother and son team. Very authentic Italian cooking adventure. The pasta and vegetables were delicious with a few bonus aperol spritz’s. I will be telling all my friends and family in Australia to attend. Such a fun day out.

Salvatore was so lovely and welcoming and food was amazing and fresh- straight from the garden which has been beautifully kept by the family. The lesson was relaxing and fun, the cooking space overlooking the port and beach. Salvatore treated us to home made lemonade on arrival, and for dinner we were served delicious sides before we had the tagliatelle we made. We made pasta from scratch and tiramisu, they cooked the pasta for us while we ate the sides. After dinner they even gave us limoncello, which was really good! Thank you Salvatore and your mum (we love u guys) for your amazing food :)

One of the best experiences of our trip. The food, the conversation, the story! All of it, truly inspiring and amazing. A beautiful showcase of passionate people that wanted to demonstrate what they love about their culture and really give the best way to show it. From their family garden to the pasta you make handmade and everything in between is full of laughter and memories. What a gift it is to be able to experience an amazing meal and also make great friends. Make this a priority because you will surely regret choosing most else that is available.

I cannot recommend this cooking class enough. This is a family run cooking class, evident by starting at their family home where you are given refreshments (homemade lemonade from their own lemons) and shown their garden which they ate from growing up - we even used some of the produce to cook. We then walked 5 mins to the water front to cook in their restaurant. It was relaxed, comedic and very educational. We drank beer as we cooked bruschetta and gnocchi with instruction from Salvatore, Andrea and Mama. The food was simple but delicious (as one imagines good authentic, Italian food is). We then ate entree, main and dessert outside with local red wine as the sun set. This is an authentic, family-run, relaxed, delicious cooking class and we were shocked to hear at the end they had only been open one month prior to our class. We have been to many cooking classes and love food/wine and highly recommend this. Thank you.

The highlight to our trip Sorrento. We had a family girls day pasta cooking class with Salvatore. Enjoyed going to the garden to pick the produce and the class was interactive and informative. The extras such as dessert and lemoncello was an added delight. A family business and delightful people. Venue on the beach very calming. Cannot recommend enough:

Had a wonderful time learning to make gnocchi as a class of six. Hosts were extraordinarily personable and enjoyable to learn from. I especially enjoyed the family aspect of the school staff!

My fiancé and I visited Italy for four weeks this Spring, and we capped off our trip by driving along the Amalfi Coast where we visited Cooking Mama in Sorrento. If you’re looking for an unforgettable, authentic, intimate Italian culinary experience – look no farther.WOW! My fiancé and I love going out to restaurants and attending various cooking classes while we travel, but this was one of the most delicious meals and enjoyable classes we’ve ever had in our lives – definitely the best we had on our trip through Italy! The staff and service at Cooking Mama were absolutely outstanding, and the classes were some of the most enjoyable and engaging I’ve ever participated in. We enjoyed our first class so much, in fact, that we booked a second class 3 days later for our return trip up the Amalfi Coast. The first class we signed up for was the Pasta Making Group Class. Our instructors, Salvatore and Mama herself, were SO knowledgeable about Italian food and culture – it almost felt like the pasta dishes were baked into their family’s DNA. Their expertise, insight, and clear instructions were extremely helpful, and both me (surprisingly) and fiancé’s meals turned out FANTASTIC!We started the class by visiting the family’s private home and beautiful garden where they grow fresh vegetables for their restaurant. You could really tell how much care and attention the family puts into producing delicious food, and it was interesting to get a bit of insight into how locals live here in Sorrento. I’m not sure if I was allowed to or not, but I snuck a tomato and WOW! I’ve never tasted such a flavourful and juicy tomato before. After visiting the family’s home and garden, we took a short 10-minute walk to their restaurant. There we learned how to prepare the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina on our first visit, and the Eggplant Parmigiana on our second. The classes were extremely engaging, informative, and entertaining, and it felt like an appropriate number of people were allowed to sign-up for the Group Class so it didn’t at all feel overcrowded or like the instructors didn’t have time or space to give us plenty of private direction and advise. On our second visit, we signed up for a Private Class. My fiancé and I preferred the Private Class due to its intimacy and the extra attention Salvatore was able to give to us, but that’s also what we were looking for on this vacation so I definitely wouldn’t look past the Group Classes. In terms of the food - I preferred the gnocchi, but my fiancé preferred the epplant parm…I cannot recommend this restaurant and experience at Cooking Mama Sorrento enough – there certainly isn’t a more memorable, enjoyable, and delicious place to visit on all of the Amalfi Coast.

A wonderful experience!!! You start at the family garden as the son Salvatore shows you their produce. You then walk to their beautiful restaurant where you will hand make pasta as well as create tiramisu!Salvatore and his mother were lovely, knowledgeable and generous. The restaurant is gorgeous!A true authentic cooking experience. You get to enjoy the fruits of your labour and finish with a lemoncello shot.Definitely recommend!! They are newer to the game, and absolutely worth while.

Salvatore and Andrea were both super knowledgable, friendly and fun! We loved visiting their garden to see where all of the ingredients are grown and then walked down to their studio to make delicious food. I would recommend this class to everyone!
