Although it is about a 10-minute drive from the villa to the main road, the roads and property within the estate are very well maintained. In Castelnuovo Berardenga, there is a nice grocery (Coop) where you can get anything you need. And in Castelnuovo Bearardenga and the surrounding villages there are a number of good restaurants. Beyond the immediate area, the villa is centrally located to explore Tuscany and Umbria by car. Siena is about a 35 minute drive., and it has much to offer in terms of sites, restaurants and shopping The house notebook is an informative and reliable guide to restaurants and things to do in the area. The cooking class with Andrea was a really wonderful experience and, with everything it includes, a great bargain. Highly recommend this house as a base from which to explore central Italy.
