I enjoyed a lot visiting Vesuvio. Ticket for guided tour but no guide. You book for a timeslot but can visit at any time.

I liked the place a lot. On a good day the view is absolutely amazing! We took a tour with a bus from Pompei (opposite Pompei entrance) that dropped us at the highest possible drop-off spot. From there the hike is around 30mins. It’s not too hard, I would probably classify it as medium but if you are not willing to put some effort and sweat a bit it’s probably not for you. At the top there are some shops where you can get a snack or water. Have in mind there is no toilet at the top. I honestly didn’t see any at the parking drop-off but not sure if I just didn’t spot them.

We came in early March while the weather was perfect. A bit cool but sunny. Parked at the designated parking lot which was free according to the website. We then took a bus shuttle (3 €/person) some 5 minutes drive up to the entrance, where we started our climb (30 minutes with children). The mountaintop was beautiful and offered some cool scenery of the sea and Naples. Totally recommended!

We spent time and money to go all the way up there to be told by the staff we have to buy tickets online. There is no cell phone service nor wifi up there. They wouldn’t accept cash payment. When we finally got wifi, their website was full of technical problems and wouldn’t let us create an account. I strongly recommend to go somewhere else for a hike.

Terribile. Non andateci, è pieno di scostumati, non c'è un bagno e provano a fregare i turisti in ogni modo. Bisogna anche pagare il wifi.

Very nice hike! Not too difficult. The staff at the entrance are not very helpful or nice. But once you get through, great views await you!

Ampio piazzale antistante la biglietteria. Ci si arriva con una navetta dal parcheggio delle auto posto a quota 800, costo 1 euro a persona a tratta. Si può salire anche a piedi dal parcheggio, sono circa 8/900 metri in salita. All'inizio del piazzale c'è un bar che funge anche da piccolo ristorante e negozio di souvenir.
