I highly recommend this restaurant and eating adventure. We had a wonderful lunch prepared by a lovely couple matteo and jumana. Their home was comfortable and inviting. The 6 course lunch was a delicious blending of Italian food with a Palestinian flair. I remembered many foods from my Italian heritage but served with a modern twist.

Mangiare da Matteo e Jumana é un viaggio attraverso i sapori da una sponda all'altra del Mediterraneo. La curiosità nel ricercare sapori nuovi unendo le loro radici napoletano-palestinesi riesce a creare dei risultati che si pongono esattamente al centro tra tradizione e modernità, e che in ogni portata incantano e soddisfano. La casa poi è calda e accogliente, e la vista sul golfo di Napoli la ciliegina sulla torta. Consigliatissimo!

Un vero home restaurant. Abbiamo pranzato con amici ospitati su un terrazzìno panoramico da cui si può ammirare il golfo Napoli e il Vesuvio. il pranzo è stato una continua sorpresa con portate molto creative che mescolano sapori della tradizione nostrana e mediorientale. Tutto molto gustoso e originale. Il tutto accompagnato dalla simpatia e professionalità di Matteo e Jumana.Sicuramente torneremo !!!!!

Magnifica esperienza in compagnia di Matteo e Jumana. I ragazzi ci hanno subito accolto in questo posto incantevole, immerso nella natura, con una vista davvero mozzafiato! Grazie a loro oggi abbiamo scoperto una nuova realtà, in cui la cucina napoletana incontra quella palestinese. Si percepisce il loro amore per la natura e il loro entusiasmo alla descrizione di ogni portata. Gustose e sfiziose tutte le portate! Consigliatissimo!

TIP: Book ahead, at least 24 hours in advance! For your best service, you should make a reservation at least a day in advance, because all the ingredients are chosen and hand picked at the 'last minute' so that they are fresh, with the best quality, but also because it takes time to prepare them before they are served!We recently ate at the Home Restaurant Sant' Agata - La Scimmia Verde, located in Sant'Agata dei due golfi with its amazing view of the picturesque bay of Sorento and Vesuvius, it was one of my most magical experiences there! From the moment we entered the house, we were greeted with warmth, hospitality and a sense of genuine passion for cooking! Esperienza bellissima sia dal punto di vista culinario, che paesaggistico: la casa è bellissima e la terrazza sulla quale si mangia affaccia sul golfo di Napoli. Una vista spettacolare!! Il cibo è ben preparato e di alta qualità, il mix di cucina napoletana e mediorientale è un’esperienza fantastica. Piatti curiosi e gustosi, spiegati e curati dai padroni di casa Matteo e Jumana che amano cucinare e lo fanno vedere e sentire. Rapporto qualità/prezzo imbattibile. Tappa fissa ogni estate!

I stumbled across this dynamic duo while looking at google maps for restaurant options near our Villa in Sant'Agata Sui Due Golfi. Making the reservation was a breeze on IG and they were very accommodating when our originally scheduled party of 8 adults turned out to be a party of 4 adults and 4 young kids (our other adult guests and relative who was the planned babysitter had flight issues). Upon arrival to their home, they took us to our seats - kids' table inside with the adults seated on their spacious balcony with incredible views. We started with a cocktail - easily the best cocktail any of us have had in 2023. Sage and Bay Leaf infused Gin and Kombucha Martini - I tend not to like Gin and generally don't drink cocktails often (prefer wine and sipping whiskeys/tequilas) but this was otherworldly. We went on to enjoy some great local wine and several courses of very inventive cuisine - each with a blend of Italian and Palestinian flair. Jumana and Matteo were excellent in presenting each dish and providing background on how each dish came to be through their own experimentation. While the drinks and locally sourced food is what we came for - Jumana and Matteo are just incredibly kind, thoughtful and interesting human beings. While juggling preparing the food, serving drinks, presenting each dish, etc - they also took the time to interact with our kids and make them feel at home (bringing out toys, coloring books and just chatting them up). You could tell it wasn't a burden to them and the kids loved their experience as well. Immersive experience is a term that is thrown around very loosely in travel these days. This was an incredible opportunity to enter the home of two very talented and exceptionally kind people that we will never forget.

Home Restaurant Sant'Agata Sui Due Golfi - La Scimmia Verde
Easily the best meal I had while I was in Italy. The hosts, Jumana and Mateo, were charming, warm, and welcoming. The atmosphere was calming, quaint and stylish (the amazing view of Sorrento didn’t hurt either). Each dish (all made using ingredients from their personal garden) came with a story and each bite came with an audible ‘gasp’ from everyone I was with because it was so freaking good! If I couldn’t only recommend one thing to do in the greater Sorrento area, this would be it!
