Anche se molto spartana nell'arredamento, vale la visita. Piatti ottimi e abbondanti, con un giusto rapporto qualità/prezzo. Il titolare molto gentile e sorridente e, nonostante fosse da solo, ci ha serviti in tempi appropriati.

Best restaurant in Sicily and Catania!! Best well known Sicilian dish, pasta alla Norma you’ll have!! Alla Norma is from Catania and this is the best place you’ll get it from - believe me, we’ve tried around. Amazing food, kind and home family feel. Real Nona in the back hand making your food! So good we drove an hour to come back EXACTLY to this place for her authentic Sicilian cooking. Will not disappoint. Don’t look any further, just get your butt over here.

Pasta alla norma and mixed plate were delicious!! We were expecting the mixed plate to be more of a charcuterie-style board but were pleasantly surprised with all of the veggies and potatoes. It was all so flavorful and amazing.That being said, we showed up around 5pm and were told they were serving food. But when they came to take our order they said the only pasta available was alla norma. Then two minutes later they let the table next to us order anything off the menu?? The pasta was amazing but service was frustrating. It may just be because we are tourists, but still annoying because we wanted to try another pasta dish as well.

My carbonara looked and tasted like scramled eggs on noodles and half of the menu was not available. The pasta ala norma was great.

This was our second visit to Trattoria di De Fiore over the course of three years. The first time we visited the restaurant, we were suspicious whether it would be any good, despite the fact that we had found the recommendation on Lonely Planet.We were not disappointed at all. In fact, the food was so good - the Norma, the fish platter, the amazing desert (friend ricotta with LOADS of sugar). Everything was melting in your mouth. We ended up eating way more than we could have done. It was a painful walk back to the Airbnb.When we had to make our plans for our second holiday in Sicily, we made sure we’ll get a night in Catania just so that we can visit the restaurant again. I don’t think I’ve ever been as satisfied about returning to a place as I was this time around. Nothing has changed, apart from gimmick with the name. The food is just as hearty and authentic as it was back in 2016. Sra Fiore is just as energetic and nice as she was back then. This time around, though, we didn’t overdo it with the food. We’ve learned our lesson.

Locale carino,con alle pareti vecchi cartelloni rappresentanti gli spettacoli del teatro Bellini molto caratteristico.La qualità del cibo non si discute, tutto buonissimo,ma i caserecci alla Rosanna una vera delizia. Consigliatissimo

Ci siamo seduti alle 20 e c’erano solo altri 6 clienti. Abbiamo ordinato un impepata di cozze per antipasto, una pasta alla norma e un nero di seppia. Cozze e nero di seppia niente di esilarante, pasta alla norma buona, nonostante tra una portata e l’altra sia passata quasi un’ora. Molti piatti presenti sul menu non erano disponibili (tra cui la cassata che in Sicilia dovrebbe essere la normalità). Anche il passito non era disponibile sebbene fosse indicato sul menu. In conclusione ci aspettavamo un servizio migliore viste le recensioni positive trovate su internet. Non lo consiglierei

We dined in as a table of 6. Food was excellent. Very traditional and one of the best we’ve had throughout Sicily. My only word of caution is that the food was slow to come (no warning, but we were already aware) but thankfully we ordered sharing portions. The restaurant is super cosy and we had an amazing evening. Service was cheery and friendly, although I think they are understaffed. We ordered from 7.45pm and paid at 9.45pm. Grilled squid was AMAZING, we tried a variety of pastas - tuna, Norma, pistachio, the horse meat was so good too.
