Can’t recommend Villa Ida strongly enough! The grounds, family, wine and food made for the most wonderful lunch in Sorrento! Do not miss this experience if you’re in Sorrento!

A phenomenal experience, the staff/family at Villa Ida are amazing and the food and setting couldn't be better. Make sure you get to try the Charlie wine.

We had so much fun during our Villa Ida cooking class. We cook fairly often at home and still learned a few tricks - and, more importantly, we had a good time doing it. Charlie, Roberta, and the rest of the family were warm, welcoming, and funny. Their sharing of their family history, their love of cooking, and their own family wine made this such a special and unforgettable experience. Lunch turned out absolutely delicious, as was the wine, - and more than ample; we didn't eat for the rest of the day. Thank you Charlie, Roberta, and family for a wonderful day and great memories!

My wife and I enjoyed our cooking class, the other students, and the entire family that helped with the lesson. Once we found the place(hidden behind a strong gate) we stepped into a beautiful garden full of Lemmon trees and an open air kitchen. Very hands on and friendly instruction. First time we had/prepared/ate fried stuffed zucchini flowers. They were fabulous.A great experience with an authentic Sorrentino family. Would love to return.

My family visited Sorrento and had the pleasure of making pizzas the old fashioned way. Met the whole family and each helped with the wonderful experience. A visit to “Charlie’s Wine Cellar” was also a highlight. My daughters, aged 14 and 19, thought it was cool to make the crust, try several types of homemade pizza and eat like a huge Italian family. They could not have been more gracious as hosts and made the experience one to remember. We ate so much lunch we skipped dinner back in Napoli.

This review is too" long over due. Last June my grandson and I took a cooking class at Villa Ida. When the Medieval-size doors opened and we walked through to the Villa surrounds my senses engaged: The beauty of the grounds; the stunning pergola; the wine house; the quintessential Italian kitchen with tiles and ceramics you see in design magazines. PHENOMENAL COOKING CLASS. This was a group experience - our group was 10 people, all separate groups but all American which made it really fun to meet new people. The family that runs Villa Ida is this amazing born and raised Sorrento family - the people helping our group were Roberta and Charlie (Roberta is Charlie’s daughter) and Charlie’s niece. We made amazing fried zucchini squash, mozzarella/parm/ricotta stuffed paccheri in a red sauce, mini meat loaf/meatballs and a limoncello version of tiramisu which I liked much better than regular coffee tiramisu. The grounds of Villa Ida are also absolutely stunning. Overall the experience was a 15/10 and would absolutely call this a must do while in Sorrento. It was about 3-4 hours.
