Orto di Venezia

Very disappointed with our trip to the Orto winery. We had read about this winery from a newspaper article and my girlfriend was looking forward to it. From the initial email enquiring about the 'wine tasting' the woman in charge was nothing but rude and blunt. When we got to the winery she plonked a bottle of wine in front of us while she was on the phone and left, almost like we were an inconvenience to her being there. She left us for a couple of hours without saying or offering any other wine or food, or showing us around the winery - not exactly wine tasting. She even had the cheek to try and charge us 20 euros each which she eventually decided to reduce to 15. My girlfriend was understandably upset by the mannerisms of this woman. Real shame - this winery has a lot of potential but not in these hands.I won't give this woman the time of day.

Non so se sia più incantevole il posto o più buono il vino. Siamo ad altissimi livelli. Meraviglioso

Very nice and intimate location far from tourists and noice of the main city. Welcoming waiter told us the story of the winery and made us taste the wine together with some croutons. Wine is delicious and location too! Totally recommended

Endroit magnifique et vin très bon mais 20 euros par personne soit 40 euros à deux pour un verre de vin et voir 2 cuves en innox c’est de l’abus. Pour ce prix là nous espérions pouvoir déguster plusieurs millésimes visiter les vignes avoir de petites choses locales à grignoter: concept vraiment à revoir !

Came for a wine tasting, ended up buying two crates!The owner nicely showed us around the whole property and told us all about the history of the island and its vineyards. It is a charming place, the wine is fantastic, perfect for getting out of crowded Venice for an afternoon.Highly recommended.

The only winery in the entire laguna of Venice. The brainchild of an adventurous and passionate Frenchman who discovered that wine had been produced there before in the 18th century. One white wine of excellent quality: freshness with a slight salty taste. Good break from the crowds in San Marco.
