Storico Frantoio Garbo - Living and loving Sicily

What a wonderful experience on Sunday afternoon - Sant’Ambroggio was probably the most favourite part of our trip. We loved the quietness, local vibe and naturality of the village and it really was such a beautiful afternoon for us all. The dinner at the local restaurant was so good as well! We were happy to cancel our reservation in Cefalú and stay for a bit longer in this lovely place.Personal thanks to Giovanna who is a wonderful host and who introduced us to the story of the olive oil production and history in the area, including its degustation. She also helped us book a transfer from Cefalú and a dinner in the local family reataurant. It was a fantastic time for myself and a group of my friends. Grazzie mille a tutti!

We had a really lovely morning and lunch with Giovanna in Sant’Ambragio. She gave us a wonderful tour of her family’s Olive oil pressing space, and provided a really rich history of the family business. The actual Olive oil tasting was delicious, especially the bread and cheeses she provided for lunch. The personal touches were lovely, and we really felt her love for the culture and history of Sicily. I’d highly recommend this tour with Giovanna - you won’t regret it.

We were a family of 8 ranging in ages from 11 to 85. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed Giovanna's wonderful olive oil tasting and presentation. We learned a tremendous amount about the workings of the olive oil process and Giovanna's Grandfather who started the olive oil press in Sant' Ambrogio. We also fell in love with the town. When we return to Sicily from the United States we will definitely spend a couple of days in this charming town.Thank you so much Giovanna for welcoming our entire family.Lana

Nous avons passé un très bon moment avec Giovanna. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la visite du village et de l’ancien moulin à huile familiale. Giovanna cherche à faire découvrir une Sicile authentique.

We were very impressed with the presentation from Giovanna and came away knowing a lot more about olive oil and how it was (and is) produced. The museum clearly has very strong connections to three generations of Giovanna’s family and it was a unique opportunity to view the olive press that was last used in 1990. The presentation was followed by a tour of the beautiful village and completed with delicious snacks (with Olive oil) and wine. Good value and highly recommended.

This was an amazing experience. We walked away knowing so much more about the production of olive oil and how to better purchase olive oil at home and which ones to buy.Plus we had the opportunity to learn her family’s experience with producing olive oil. We could all tell how proud she is of her family’s work.Not to forget, we were able to sample and enjoy foods with the olive oil.This is an experience not to miss.

This is a truly authentic olive oil tasting experience, where you get to discover the family story behind this oil mill. You also are taken around a quick tour of the very cute village. We loved the last stop, on a wonderful terrace with a breathtaking view, where you can sip on a glass of wine while enjoying some aperitivo with olive oil. Absolutely recommend!

La voglia di mantenere vive le tradizioni e farle conoscere ai giovani e a chi arriva come visitatore in questo delizioso Borgo, è la colonna portante di questo storico frantoioSi può fare all’interno un percorso a ritroso nel tempo, aiutati da foto e dai mezzi usati in passato per la lavorazione delle olive, e la trasformazione in olio di qualità

Une de mes meilleures expériences en Sicile ! Je souhaitais sortir des sentiers battus avec cette visite d’une fabrique d’huile d’olive et je n’ai pas été déçue. Giovanna est vraiment passionnée par son île, son village et cette fabrique héritée de sa famille. Ses explications sont claires (elle parle très bien français) et elle a vraiment pris le temps de répondre à mes questions. La dégustation à la fin est top ! Ça fait plaisir de rencontrer encore aujourd’hui des personnes aussi généreuses que Giovanna.PS : le village de Sant’Ambriogio vaut le détour !
