True Umbria - Villa Cipresso
Located on a remote hill with a stunning view of the breathtaking landscape of Umbria, the Villa Cipresso is the perfect hideaway in Italy's heartland. The elegant and luxurious residence is fully equipped with everything one needs for a perfect vacation. One can relax by the pool or read in one of the hammocks overlooking the hillside. The three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are spacious and provide perfect privacy even when sharing the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and even though one is fully surrounded by nature there is a fast internet connection, a TV and telephone. While it could be easy to loose oneself in the serenity of the place and just never leave the villa, one is still very close to the gems of Italian art and culture. Beautiful must see towns such as Todi, Orvieto, Perugia, and Assisi are just a short drive away and offer fantastic dining and outstanding cultural experiences. Me and my family would have loved to stay the whole summer and hope to come back soon.

True Umbria - Villa Cipresso
A marvellously tranquil part of Umbria, and a great house high on a hill. I have spent happy days there, and highly recommend it. Day trips to great places are to be found in every direction. I only hesitate to recommend it because I want to keep it to myself!

True Umbria - Villa Cipresso
It is just a wonderfull place, beautifull villa with a very nice, romantic view of the small walley and surrounding hills. Ideal for families looking for silent place in umbrian nature. We spent there 1 week which was not enough for us. I would recommend to stay for 2 or even more weeks so you can discover the whole area and enjoy umbrian food, nature, history...one thing should be highlighted here, the owner - Mario Santoro. His helpfull attitude and personlity made our stay much more pleasant. Thank you!

We spent two months in Villa Cipresso and we really liked it! House has big nice pool and really amazing view! Location is good if you want to experience local life. There are few small villages near by and local people are very friendly and lovely. The host is super nice man! He is very helpful and friendly.

We were second time here, and we had amazing time again. We just love the peace and quiet what appears here. And of course the view! Its breath taking. House has authentic Italian feeling and the host is really helpfull and super friendly. Here are many lovely little villages nearby and just 20- 40min drive you will find bigger towns like Todi, Orvietto, Terni and Perugia. We really recommend the place for everyone.

True Umbria - Villa Cipresso
If you are looking for a peaceful country escape and a taste of the gentle pace of Umbrian life look no further than Villa Cipresso. We stayed here 2 weeks and a highlight each morning was opening the shutters to the most amazing view and listening to the church bells from across the valley. The night sky without our London light pollution was amazing too! The rustic villa itself has comfy beds, is clean and well appointed with everything you might need. Our normal routine each day was a day of sight seeing (LOTS within a few hours drive, Assisi, Orvieto, Lake Trasimeno) and we went further afield into Tuscany several times too. We would then return to the gorgeous, generously sized swimming pool to cool down, before either cooking dinner at the villa or going into Todi for dinner. The 1.5miles from the tarmac road to the villa is via an ‘interesting’!’ dirt track, you do need at least a front wheel drive or 4x4 to get up the steep slopes, our 2l automatic Ford SMax had no problems. If there is anything we could change, it would be to move the villa (and it’s view!) to slightly nearer Todi as it was a half hour drive away (as is the nearest large supermarket) but then you’d lose that ‘away from it all’ feel which was so magical and idyllic! Mario the owner and his staff were AMAZING. Nothing was too much trouble, any minor problems were quickly fixed and Mario would book us a table for dinner, and recommend things to do/places to eat when out sightseeing. He even cooked and served us dinner one evening with vintage wines from Todi Castle, a memory that we will hold dear forever. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Go!

True Umbria - Villa Cipresso
Villa Cipressa is a cosy house in a scenic region of Umbria. The owner and manager Mario is very helpful. The villa is not conveniently located, which had not been clear to us from the website description. Road access to the house is poor, so that even a visit to any of the several local villages is quite a sojourn. Fortunately the house is well enough equipped for eating in. Only 2 of the 3 bedrooms and bathrooms are usable due to septic odor in a part of the house.

True Umbria - Villa Cipresso
I can't quite explain why but this beautiful villa hidden in a crease in the endless folds and wolds of Umbria has made me her helpless captive. From the terrace I can see hilltop villages, valleys and seemingly boundless forests. I can climb above the house and stand at the foot of an ivy clad tumble-down watchtower and all I can see is more valleys, more hill towns and more space. I know I can leave, to visit the sights, to taste wine, to eat well but I just don't really want to, not today.I want to stay here, sunning myself in the hammock, cooling down in the pool, making-do from the fridge and larder and thinking my thoughts of escape and simplicity. We have managed to visit Orvieto, Todi, more besides and marvelled at these old, beautiful towns and we've walked the banks of the Tiber, eaten pizza in Fiore and ridden horses up to St Francis' chapel somewhere to the South. But always I want to be back here in Il Cipresso. This is a charming place, comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. I know we have to leave but like a Lotus-eater, I'd rather think about that tomorrow. Our host, Mario is alway attentive and has made our pleasure his business. I wish him well and I wish you find your peace here in Umbria.
