Casa della Giovane - Pensionato Universitario

A quaint place run by nuns. They are very friendly and accommodating. The place is a 15 minute walk to the university of Bari, and a 5 minute walk to the closest grocery/supermarket store. You have the option of single or double room. Room with own bath or shared bath. Big communal kitchen with a dining room, stoves, sinks, microwave, toaster, freezers and refrigerators. U get your own kitchen locker to keep your items. They provide table and kitchen ware if needed. The only caveat is that in March the heating system is turned off, even if it's still very cold (40F). You can't bring your individual heater and plug in. So if you are not used to that temp, nights can be extremely challenging. I was provided with many blankets to try to stay warm. You get to know the other tenants and most of the nuns, and strike a friendship. Oh I forgot: the wifi is a hit or miss. It works best when everyone is asleep :). Overall, I love the place and would definitely stay there again.
