Despite bad reviews we thought we’d go ahead and rent a car on holiday as my partner works for the company in the UK. However the customer service was awful. We were charged twice for the deposit and shouted at when we asked for 1 payment back. We then ended up with a different car, getting charged an extra 30 euros than what we were quoted. The car had a low oil light come on the first time we drove it. We decided to return the car a day early and the customer service adviser claimed he couldn’t refund a day rate from his end, we’d have to call head office. Then claimed he could ‘check’ if we agreed to sign to close the rental. We refused to sign until we had our money back and what a surprise, suddenly he could refund us! Just to top it off, driving in Italy is dangerous (compared to the UK) and expensive. The only positive is the woman on the front desk (Anastasia) who was very kind and helpful.

We didn't take any insurance because we had it with our credit card. They charged 900€ at drop off because we apparently dented the car. We didn't have one accident with the car during our trip. They took advantage of the fact we dropped the car early in the morning to charge us extra. Plus, where we say we dented the car is where there used to be scratches when we picked up the car. They say dents are not scratches, but let's be honest and how lucky could we have been to dent the car exactly where there were scratches. Bunch of thieves.

There must be new management, since I had a great experience. Staff were friendly, service was good, and I was kept informed of everything. Price was really good too, so it's top marks from me!

The older reviews concerned me but I chose to rent anyway and give them a try even though this was my first experience renting outside the US. We had a great experience. The agent (forget her name) was extremely helpful and kind and really took her time to make sure we had everything we needed. You could tell she really cared. They also had the automatic car we rented through Expedia, which was another concern I had going in. The car was very clean and also nearly new. Many thanks for the positive experience!
