Sunday’s market- goods, clothing and food

Rural Italy has a market day in every town. In Abruzzo, market day runs 7am till noon on a single day. Here it is every Sunday. It covers few streets with vendors of all types. Unique items are the farmer’s tools that are very seasonal like tomato paste machine offered only in August or fruits preserves cans that are a summer item. Also fresh produce, great italian cheeses and salami, clothing and even sunglasses and music discs. Not visiting the weekly market leaves you with a caltural vacuum. It is also the day the entire village comes to the center of town and an opportunity for local and national politics.
