Trulli Italian School - Scuola di lingua italiana

Before attending Trulli Italian School, I was amazed that every review was 5 stars - which persuaded me to go there. I hope this review helps others to decide too.Firstly, the teaching was excellent and I learnt a huge amount. The patience and kindness of the teachers was incredible.The apartment I stayed in, arranged by the school, was perfect for my 3 week stay.However, I struggled to find other people who wanted to speak Italian outside of the classroom - not what I expected from a total immersion course. The afternoon excursions were good, but relatively brief, and the notice given of timings etc was only a few hours prior - meaning it was difficult to plan ahead.I got the distinct impression that the school is run for tourism, rather than for language learning and the extra excursions were out of my price range. Somewhere along the line, I felt like a poor relation and a teeny bit exploited.

Ich besuchte den zweiwöchigen Immersionskurs. Auch als Alleinreisende habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Als Seniorin wollte ich nicht in einer WG wohnen, deshalb habe ich mir eine eigene Wohnung gesucht. Die Schule ist aber in jedem Fall behilflich, das passende zu finden. Der Eintrittstest hilft, die richtige Klasse zu finden. Ich war in der Klasse von Elena. Dieses südländische Energiebündel hat es geschafft, uns trotz unterschiedlichen Erwartungen zu einer Klasse zu formen. Wir wurden gefördert und gefordert. Da war es dann ganz schön, dass am Nachmittag Ausflüge, Zeit für Hausaufgaben oder Erkundungsspaziergänge auf dem Programm standen. Die Ausflüge waren bestens organisiert und durch unsere vorausschauenden Fahrer sicher und pünktlich ausgeführt. Der öffentliche Verkehr in dieser Region gestaltet sich schwierig, deshalb ist es so toll, dass die Schule diese Ausflüge organisiert!Bei Fragen konnten wir uns immer an die Schule wenden und der „Schul-Chat“ war auch sehr hilfreich. So konnten wir die Ausflugszeiten auch noch nachlesen… Die Lage der Schule, beim Bahnhof, ist besonders in den ersten Tagen hilfreich. Wenn man die richtige Strasse verpasst, weiss jeder, wo der Bahnhof ist. (Ich habe im Sekretariat von Elisabetta einen Ortsplan bekommen).Ich bin mit meinem Aufenthalt vollauf zufrieden. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist mit diesen Zusatzleistungen gut und die Betreuung und der Unterricht sehr gut.

The school has a warm, welcoming feel. They do a good job of placing students into the appropriate language level, and all the instructors were excellent. We had class in the morning and cultural activities in the afternoon--our days were full.What made my experience even more valuable was the location of the school. It’s in a beautiful historical town with many traditional restaurants and shops, which gives you plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself into the culture and practice speaking Italian.You don’t really need a car to get around. Everything you need is within walking distance. But, if you want to go outside the city, the school is located right next to the train and bus stations.If you are looking for a fun, immersion language program, I highly recommend Trulli Italian School.

I attended the Over 50 Immersion class in late April in beautiful Alberobello. I knew from my first communication with Andrea that I was making the right choice in the Trulli School. Andrea, Elisabetta and the instructors made the the school feel like family. There were people from all over the world and we all became fast friends with small classes in the morning and afternoon activities from touring neighboring towns to learning to make pasta with nonna. By immersing us in the local community we could practice what we were learning.I was in the beginner class and our instructor, Angelica was an engaging and energetic instructor. She made learning fun, through the laughter and her encouragement, I found myself learning the language.If you are interested in learning Italian at any level, I can’t recommend Andrea and The TrulliSchool enough.

The Trulli Italian School was one of the best experiences of my life. The teachers were amazing, helpful and patient especially with beginners like myself. The lessons everyday were excellent. The excursions planned for the afternoons with the instructors were wonderful, especially since you had to speak Italian and it forced you to speak and listen to it all the time. Andrea and his staff were truly the best. I want to reserve a spot every year and go back. Puglia is a beautiful region of Italy, I think one of my favorites now!

My two week immersion course in June was excellent. I can't find fault anything regarding the school; the course was very well organized, the teaching top class, the afternoon excursions varied and interesting and the school staff were absolutely professional. My teacher, Elena, was a star!Being taken care of by such a helpful, lovely 'family' ensured a great atmosphere and encouraged the students to make lasting friendships.Alberobello is a very small town and although touristed, was a marvellous base for a friendly, 'real' Italian stay.I can't recommend the whole experience more highly; thank you Trulli Italian School!

I can’t begin to describe how enjoyable and inspiring this Italian immersion course in Alberobello was for me. I was traveling alone and instantly felt welcomed by both the staff at Trulli Italian school and by the other students. The camaraderie was instant and grew stronger each day. Like me, the other students from the US, Australia, France and the UK shared the same passion for everything Italian including the language. The language teachers were committed to helping us learn no matter what our level was. Along with formal instruction, the teachers infused the Italian culture whenever possible allowing each of us to feel welcome and wanting to know more. By the end of the course I was inspired to continue on my journey to becoming bilingual , or close to. In addition to the daily classes, the excursions each day were well organized, historically important and most of all great fun!! The town of Alberobello was an ideal base to explore the region of Puglia and Andrea did a fantastic job of selecting great activities. Not to mention the fact that Alberobello itself is a warm and friendly town, there was also lots to see and do from walking along the narrow streets where the trulli were, to finding a great place to eat. A huge thank you once again to the staff, especially to my fantastic teacher Elena and to Andrea who made it all happen.

Imparare l'italiano alla Trulli Italian School e veramente un'esperianza unica e meravigliosa. Ho scelto un programma di immersione con lezioni individuali e intensivi. I corsi mi sono molto piaciutti, perchè mia insegnante, Maria-Elena e una persona molto gentile , professionale ed appassionata dal suo mestiere, le lezioni sono strutture, organizzate et anche divertenti! Abbiamo potuto parlare insieme di diversi argomenti come la cucina , la musica italiana o il cinema , Maria Elena mi ha aiutata a migliorare il mio livello di lingua e ha rafforzato il mio piacere per la cultura italiana.Questa settimana e anche l'occasione si scoprire la Puglia e le sue speciliata culinari, perche Andrea, il direttore della scuola , una persona anche gentillissima, generosa e sempre disponibile per aiutare e fare tutto il suo possibile affinchè il soggiorno vada molto bene, mi ha proposto nel pomeriggio delle attività molto interessanti e divertanti come una passegiata nella campagnia ad Alberobello, la visita delle bellisimme citta di Locorotondo e Ostuni, la degustazione del vino in una masseria, senza dimenticare il corso di cucina con Nonna Maria e Paola che era divertente e ricco di emozioni.Io raccomando la scuola dei Trulli per tutte questi ragioni e per tutti che desiderano incontrare delle persone carine. Era veramente per me una settimana magica che io non dimentichero mai !

Ho appena passato 15 giorni assolutamente meravigliosi a scuola: corsi interessanti, strutturati e molto amichevoli (grazie mille Tiziana).Ho apprezzato l'atmosfera!Dopo le lezioni, e per chi lo desidera, passeggiate, bagni di mare o in piscina o lezioni di cucina con Nonna Maria che condividiamo tutti insieme senza dimenticare di mettere in pratica le espressioni apprese al mattino durante le lezioni : fare la scarpetta !!! (ora penserò a Maria Elena & Isabella ogni volta!)E la sera, ritorno ai Trulli del Bosco per una splendida cena preparata da Paola (tutto è delizioso, fatto in casa e una vera scoperta della cucina pugliese).Tutto, assolutamente tutto, è organizzato da Andrea, il direttore della scuola, in modo che il soggiorno sia semplice, gioioso, pieno di apprendimento e scoperta.Nous sommes peu nombreux en cours, et ça c'est génial. Vous allez adorer !

If you are looking for the most unique way to learn Italian while exploring stunning Puglia, you have found it. I am eternally grateful to Andrea, his staff, and his family for putting in the hard work to make this program a reality. They are warm, organized, and most of all FUN! My Italian has improved significantly, and I’ve made friends and memories for a lifetime. Trulli School is one-of-a-kind.
