Hotel Castello

The hotel is located at the corner of a small market, in a very central location! It was a short walk to all the major attractions. The staff and the service they provided throughout the visit was top class! The hotel was very clean and decorated in a Venetian style". The room was very spacious and also very quiet."

Hotel Castello was in a great location - walking distance to St. Mark's Square and with restaurants/bars right outside the lobby! It is an old Venetian Hotel - so you get just that. Staff was kind and helpful. Downside comments to note- AC did not work consistently, the bed was not very comfortable and sound traveled easily from neighboring rooms.

This hotel is great for few nights. It is in a perfect location and easily accessible throughout the day. We even would go back to drop of souvenirs we bought or freshen up for dinner. The rooms and building itself is pretty old. There isn’t an elevator, so luggage’s were tricky, but not terrible. The breakfast was €10 per person, per day. We did it the first day and opted out of it for the rest of the trip. It wasn’t terrible, some crossants, cereal, orange juice. Just the basics. The room was very small but was perfect for two people. The king bed is easy to separate and make two twins! There is a small fridge but it was kind of gross and not super cold. Oh also, it was only a 10 walk from the water taxi that takes you all over including the airport and train station. The location of this location was my favorite part and I would stay here again for this reason!!!

The accommodations are fine—no AC and a firm mattress, but the room size was reasonable. About a 30 minute walk from the train station, but central to the main tourist attractions. The main downside is the breakfast is 10€ & tiny, with a very limited selection. It is not complementary, which wasn’t advertised.

Frankly I don't understand most of the negative reviews. The hotel is in a great location and reasonably priced; people complaining that the entrance is located on an apparently scary narrow street clearly don't understand what Venice is like as a city...The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I stayed a couple nights here with my aunt while we were in the city sightseeing. The room we got was a little cramped for two people in my opinion, but nothing uncomfortable. It's a place to sleep and leave your stuff, the air conditioning works, the rooms are clean, and there's a balcony to smoke, what could you possibly complain about? Go, go see the city!Definitely would recommend this place to the rest of my family and my friends for short trips to Venice.

A cinque minuti a piedi da piazza San Marco di trova questo hotel.Non è visibile in quanto è ubicato in un vicolo secondario.Qui ho trovato persone che danno ancora un valore ai rapporti umani e di conseguenza trattano il cliente con rispetto e soddisfazione.La camera è molto ampia, mentre il bagno riservato è comunicante con la stessa camera e non come in certe strutture che viene condiviso da altre stanze.La colazione è molto assortita con dolce e salato.Il caffè viene servito dal bar e non dal distributore automatico.Ho molto apprezzato il servizio e la passione che ha la cameriera che ci ha servito la colazione.Anche il signore alla reception è stato molto cordiale e ci ha permesso di tenere i bagagli anche dopo aver lasciato la stanza.La tranquillità della zona e la posizione strategica fa si che lo consiglio a tutti.

Giving this two stars instead of one since one of the staff members genuinely tried to help.Overall, we were disappointed with our experience. Our room looked very different from the pictures. It was like something out of a horror movie. I offered to pay extra euros to get a different room, and one helpful employee said we could change the room for free the next day. When we actually tried to get a new room the next day, they said it was no longer possible. I am a bit skeptical as to why the story changed but we accepted the fact that we had to stay where we would.I also felt that one of the front desk workers was insincere and difficult to deal with.The good thing about the hotel was the location. If you don't care about room quality and just want something near Saint Mark's square, this is the place for you.

It was in a great location. The beds were hard to sleep on. No air conditioning and no elevator. Had we not been traveling with a child this would not have been too much of an issue. It is a great place to rest your head, otherwise I wouldn't spend much time in the room itself.
