Il Sereno Al Lago Restaurant
We are staying at the hotel and had an outstanding dinner at the restaurant - easily our best in Italy. Truly worth the expense! Service was sublime, food was even better. Hotel is perfectly situated on Lake Como and seems to have as many people on staff as guests.

One of the worst hotels ..they are so raciest and impolite even thou we called prior our visit to check the hotel to stay even for outside guests and they said it’s ok on the phone… a Lebanese security at the entrance was claiming I can’t let you in if you don’t have a reservation even though we spoke to their receptionist.. I spoke to the receptionist again on the phone when she was out of excuses she said I can’t hear you .. what a reputation!!!

We were staying at the hotel (which we can’t recommend enough btw, truly incredible) and decided to eat at the restaurant one evening.The position of the restaurant is under the hotel with lovely arches which give great views of the lake. Unfortunately that’s the best thing about the experience.We sat and waited, then given some water and waited. We asked for a drinks menu but it took ages to come (we had a glass of wine 35 minutes after sitting down), they tried taking our food order before we had even ordered a drink, which we found a bit odd.We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu which sounded good. The courses came out and we were given a nice explanation about what each dish was. Unfortunately the food was just very average, with the exception of the tomato desert (which would have been a great starter) and the selection of deserts. We found the spaghetti too salty, and then shocked that the dish after was just a spoon of the same salty sauce. In total we had bread at 3 different points of the night throughout the menu.The staff, while polite, did not make anything particularly special about the evening, no real engagement. The tables looked the same as what you have during breakfast, perhaps it would be nicer to add a table cloth over them for the evening.Would not recommend and have no idea how this got a Michelin star.

This is for the restaurant. Utterly disappointing! We were filled with anticipation for this given the Michelin star and ordered the 190 euro per pax chefs menu, it was described as Contrast and Contradiction. It was at best flavorless and forgettable at times, and at worst utterly bad tasting. Especially for the Ravioli with miso stock and the spaghetti with perilla vinegar. Both were so misguided in the taste profile I had to almost spit it out. The wasabi marshmallow palate cleanser was absolutely misguided. Really disappointing. We’ve been to other Michelin star restaurants in the area and this is by far the most expensive and the worst.

I don’t really know where to start here. This meal was “ok” at best and most certainly not worth the price. The tasting menu was relatively uninteresting and disappointing. A couple of good dishes to begin the meal followed by course upon course of dishes lacking in flavor. Some simply tasted bad. Never before have I found myself not looking forward to the next course on a tasting menu and wondering how soon this would end. The setting is beautiful, and perhaps ordering a la carte is better, but I would not recommend the tasting menu here.The host service was warm and friendly while table service left some to be desired. Can definitely understand why Al Lago lost its Michelin star.

This is the review for the restaurant at il Serano. The setting is out of the world with views and design. But perhaps that's where the good thing ends. As for the food its one of the flavorless meals I have ever had. The fried artichoke starter was a head and tounge scratcher, we make a better white asparagus dish at home. The green cod was as tasteless as dish could get.The service was very spotty with constant upsell which rubs everyone wrong. As soon as we didn't want to order dessert, we were given the cold shoulder and the check was incorrect with additional inaccurate charges.What a disappointment!

We had the amazing lunch at this lovely location, even its not easy to reach but totally worth to be here that you got amazing Italian fusion and the lake view at middle of no where so gonna be back
