Ostello Bello Como

Hostel-wise there is no competition in Como, allowing this hostel to ask for ridiculous prices per bed. And the beds/ mattresses are not even that comfortable. However, if you manage to get a spot early enough or during a non-busy time of the year (cheaper), you can take part in lots of activities organized by the staff and get to know outgoing people at the bar. So, I still like visiting it.

This hostel was nothing short of amazing. In the middle of town. You can walk to everything. A grocery store next door that is open 24 hours. Helpful staff. Pretty quiet in terms of a hostel setting. Also, the back garden area is a great place to wind down.

So good, this is my favourite hostel to date. The rooms are great, the bathrooms are great, the staff are great, the bar is great, the kitchen is great. There’s so much free stuff you can use, there’s a big supermarket next door, the location is perfect.

Il costo è molto alto e mi sarei aspettato un livello come gli ostelli del nord Europa. Purtroppo non è stato così.La Camera era sporca per terra. Per capirci, c'erano pringles gettate in un angolo, cibo in giro, cumuli di vestiti di qualche ospite, etc etc. I letti erano ok. Il bagno era indecente e mi sono rifiutato di farmi una doccia. La serratura era divelta, c'erano cose sparse in giro e il pavimento era nero sporco.Uno degli ospiti nella mia camera era particolarmente fastidioso (mangiava di notte, camminava, sbatteva, etc etc) nonché beveva brick di tavernello continuamente, esibendo gravi problemi psichiatrici. È stato segnalato anticipatamente ai responsabili il fatto che ci fosse un personaggio del genere in stanza (che quindi possedeva pure un coltello per mangiare) e non è stato fatto nulla.Le stanze non sono isolate e considerando il fatto che l'ostello fa anche bar la sera, si sente musica anche fin dopo mezzanotte e mezza / l'una. In sostanza, se pensate di alzarvi presto la mattina, EVITATELO.Non solo, a quanto pare non è possibile fare colazione prima delle 7.30, anche se tutto risulta pronto già alle 7.00.Dopo un po' di mie insistenze mi è stato possibile alle 7.20 bere un caffè (pessimo) dalla macchina e una brioches. Cinque euro di colazione buttati. L'avevo anche pagata (e avevo segnalato il giorno prima che sarei dovuto partire prima)Ripeto, considerato il costo altissimo, non ne vale la pena. Non ci tornerei, né lo consiglierei mai e poi mai.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The only thing was the toilet hadn't been wiped down but all things considered, everything was really clean and nice!The front desk staff was really welcoming and helped us navigate each day showing us different options and routes. They couldn't have been more helpful!We stayed in a private room overlooking the garden and the sounds of everyone talking, singing on karaoke night and having fun was actually really serene!!

Very expensive for what you get. £70 a night for a dorm bed is ridiculous especially when you can't sit up in your dorm bed, you have to make your own bed and we couldn't get served at their bar because everyone bar one person wasn't licensed to serve and that one person wasn't working at the bar. The location was good but I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone.

Love the Ostello Bello brand! We stayed in Florence and both Milan locations as well as the Como location. Como is a great spot to use as a home base to tour the lake. The staff is super helpful with bus and ferry information. The bar is a nice spot to meet guests and locals. Rooms are clean. Would definitely stay here again

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Ostello Bello Como! Literally the best location in Como, right across from the park and beach, 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and 15 minutes from the fernicular to Brunate. The hostel itself has an amazing welcoming and safe vibe, with a wonderful breakfast included option, free pasta and sauce for your own cooking, as well as a 24/7 bar, many varied common areas inside and out, clean rooms with large under-bed storage, and fun nightly events that most of the guests participate in. Would stay again, would recommend!
