Die Schwierigkeit für mich war, die Adresse des Check-Ins herauszufinden: Via del Arsenale, PalermoIch muss lange googeln und Foren besuchen, um dies herauszufinden. Auf den Unterlagen der Grimaldi Lines habe ich leider keinen Hinweis gefunden. Der Check-In ist unkompliziert. Gleiches gilt für das boarden und die Wegfahrt am Ziel (Palermo - Cagliari). Die Überfahrt dauert ca. 12 Stunden. Eine Kabine empfielt sich. Sitzmöglichkeiten sind genügend vorhanden.

This is the right spot for check-in for a trip with Grimaldi Lines. We arrived early (remember to be there at least two hours before departure time). Here some steps:- Arrive at check-in: show your (printed ticket)- In our case, we got instructions to drive to the big ferry of Grimaldi in the first port. Just drive through the check-in- There was some personal with orange jackets who gave driving instructions. Just ask and follow their instructions. Beware that other vehicles (trucks etc.) are also busy in and unloading the ferry. It can get busy.- After following instructions, there is another short check on documentation and ask you to open the door to see what’s inside.- Next is getting in line before boarding the ship. This can take a while. Bring food and drinks. Don’t forget there are no toilets. We were allowed to board after about 45 minutes of waiting, so the rest of the time before departure we spend on board with some coffee.- Boarding is interesting. Personel give very clear instructions. Follow them and park your car close to walls or other vehicles. You need some parking skills.- Walk up the stairs or take elevator to restaurants or cabin check-in.That’s it for boarding. Hope this helps in addition to the information on the website. Per le lunghe attese, sarebbe stato meglio se ci fosse stato un bar per il ristoro dei viaggiatori. Purtroppo solo 2 bagni chimici, 1 dispenser di snack ed una macchinetta per bevande calde (ma solo se sei fortunato ad avere monete a sufficienza per soddisfare le esigenze di una famiglia).In luoghi così affollati sarebbe meglio implementare i servizi.

Una bella organizzazione pochi cartelli però che indicano il porto e gli imparchi

I can confirm that this is a correct place for boarding to Cagliari and probably other destinations, kudos to the guy who added it to the maps. Positives end here. The experience itself was tragic. I could hardly imagine any less organized company. fast checkin" procedure in place at this port being explained as an advantage but it's a horror. Unless you have a ticket with a barcode (any will do as they don't scan it anyway)
