I have been unable to speak with my mother for over three years since an Italian court committed her against her will to this place. My mother is an American citizen, but the useless US Consulate in Florence has done nothing to help. Every time I try to call my mother, the nursing home staff either say she is asleep or they claim they don't speak English. I have even pre-translated my request into Italian on Goggle translate before I call, but I still can't get my mother on the phone or get any information about her. This is criminal and inexcusable on the part of the Nursing home. All am asking is to speak to my mother to verify she is alive, safe, and happy.
