Student Housing in Rome - SHR

Do not use! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I’m currently staying in one of their student apartments and out of all the other dorms and apartments I’ve ever lived in, this has been the worst housing experience of my life. First of all, my roommates and I were given a 24 hour notice and forced to urgently move out of our apartment 3 weeks into the semester with no explanation. After moving to the new apartment we’ve had numerous maintenance issues that haven’t been fixed after multiple weeks and repeated requests.Last week, our hot water heater started leaking rusty water onto the floor and has stopped making hot water: we’ve been without hot water for the past week. Our kitchen was renovated from an old bathroom and the boarded-up shower inside is causing the entire room to smell like mold. The list goes on. To me the issue of water leaking from a hot water heater, enough to cover the entire floor of an upstairs apartment, seems like an urgent issue… but maybe not to SHR?We’ve called the company directly to try to solve these issues but the founder, Elisabeth, seems to have an attitude every time we call her, dismisses our concerns, and fails to provide us with solutions. Everything else about our semester studying abroad has been great but the housing situation provided by SHR has been uncomfortable and unacceptable. If you’re looking for student housing in Rome, find somewhere else to live!
