Wow - this place is ab-so-lutely stunning. From sunrise to sunset, I just couldn't get enough from looking at the views from the garden and the guesthouse (La Fattoria). The guesthouse is really cosy and very well equiped. There's multiple spots around it where you can sit and enjoy the awesome views. There's a couple really beautiful hikes starting practically right next to the garden. The hosts are great as well - both Jamie and Ailsa are lovely: kind, professional and always open for a good conversation. They know the area inside out and can take you on countless hikes in the surroundings. Ailsa's cooking is out of this world!I'll definetely come back when I'm in the area!

We had an incredibly idyllic stay for 4 nights. Our hosts husband and wife Jamie and Ailsa could not have been more accommodating. We stayed in a farmhouse on the estate with 6 friends and had a fabulous time. The scenery is breathtaking, goats, the cutest dog and cats, a real home away from home. One day Jamie and Ailsa came and cooked wood-fired pizzas for us all it was absolutely delicious washed down with the local prosecco. Another evening they took us in a minibus to a local restaurant where we enjoyed the most fabulous meal. The surrounding land was perfect for long country walks and the peace and quiet were exactly what we all needed. We all had just the best time there and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes the agriturismo experience. Thank you Jamie and Ailsa for a delightful holiday.

Enjoyed a lovely week`s walking in this special place. Jamie and Ailsa are wonderful hosts, very knowlegable on the area but equally laid back and relaxed. The food and wine are first class and the accommodation very comfortable. Really beautiful yet quiet area for walking, from colourful beech woods to breezy summits and spectacular limestone peaks. Thoroughly recommended!

Superb one-week Pilates trip at Lavacchio. Rural Tuscan hill top setting is spectacular - beautiful views over the valley surrounded by other hill top vistas. Their gardens/orchards are abundant with birdsong and wildlife. The large pool by the farmhouse is a sanctuary surrounded by a bounty of lavender plantings. Interiors also beautiful. Super-comfy beds, lovely furniture, walls hung with interesting art and textiles. Food was magnificent. Ailsa's cooking is inspired - super tasty, interesting, creative. I loved the chicken salad (moist chicken, fennel and herbs in a light creamy orange dressing), her home made marmalade at breakfast, amazing black garlic sauce on roasted aubergine starter, the wood-fired chicken and rib BBQ dinner, delicious green salads, shortbread cookies, passionfruit muffins .. I could go on and on. Every meal a total pleasure. Jamie is so welcoming and entertaining and helpful. A perfect host. They're a very interesting couple and you can see the love and attention that has gone into creating such a special place. You feel like you are staying at some great relatives beautiful home and abundant garden. Highly recommend.

Looking for a tranquil stay in a beautifully restored farmhouse with stunning views and delicious food? You will find it here with Jamie and Alisa as your congenial hosts. There are shady hammocks to laze in and a swimming pool surrounded by lavender alive with butterflies. This was my third stay here for a Pilates retreat, each year has been wonderful and I have returned home both energised and refreshed. Highly recommended.

Location (beautifully landscaped property high in the Tuscan Hills with breathtaking panoramic views). Accommodation (large & spacious rooms, tastefully decorated throughout. Close attention has been made to retaining authenticity & local artistry whilst providing all the modern conveniences one could wish for!) Our hosts Ailsa & Jamie Reynolds (could not have been more accommodating! Highly skilled , both were attentive & helpful without being obtrusive. We would not and could not fault them!) Highly recommend this Agriturismo.

The col do lavaccio Agroturismo is in a spectacular location in the garfanano hills near Barga an easy train ride to the beautiful town of Lucca. Jamie and Ailsa make one feel totally at home with local knowledge and Ailsa’s fabulous cooking using home produced veg and fruits, also local dairy, meat and fish. There is a lovely swimming pool area surrounded by rockeries, views and hills for hiking in all directions. Recommend highly for those who would like to organise small yoga or Pilates retreats and visitors to the region who enjoy hiking as relaxing. Italian, English and some french spoken. Rooms are homely with smart almost en-suite bathrooms.

Col Di Lavacchio is a wonderful agriturismo farm; I visited for a week this past September. The farm is magnificently situated, secluded but with panoramic views of the Apuanes and Apennines; the hosts are warm, patient, knowledgeable and generous; the cuisine is healthy and delicious, light and creative; the wine is abundant, local and well chosen for the meals. The companionship of the other hikers was warm and sociable, and was enhanced by the owners' sweet canine Finty. Our hosts provided experienced guides for the wild Tuscany hikers, and accompanied those of us who chose the mild Tuscany hikes. All guests that week were very happy with the level of activity, the hospitality of the hosts, and the comfort of the farm. I would go back.
