Nicely decorated and appointed apartment in a sleepy village with few shops

Castelnovo is located 8 km southeast of Montalcino and about 40 km southeast of Siena. It presides over the scenic valley called “Val d’Orcia”, which is named after the river which runs through it. In this medieval village it´s unique characteristics are still intact: narrow roads paved like in days of old, the bishop’s palace, the Romanesque church, the small piazza, the center of life for the local community. The quiet village has only at about 230 residents and is surrounded by olive- and wine yards.Our stay in the “Il Borghetto Tuscany Apartments”: Stefania Ciacci who spent part of her childhood in Castelnuovo restored the cozy apartments with great passion. She personally assured that the restoration became a creation, like a painter creating an artwork from scratch. During the restauration different craftsman came into play: the master carpenter, who made the doors and mantel from a piece of rough wood, the blacksmith, who forged the iron for the windows and restored the ancient andirons, the mason, who carefully applied the old lime plaster techniques…We hope, to be back soon.

Luogo magnifico e casa spaziosa. Parcheggio non lontano

I lieviti ottimi e in caffè non è da meno la signora molto gentile.
