Siciliamo - Cooking Workshops

We had a wonderful time at our Arancini cooking class with our teacher Marcella and her friendly partner! We started off with some vino and snacks as we got to know each other then moved into the class area and made arancini! We were 4 students - a couple we knew joined my wife and I - and only I had every tried to make arancini before. Marcella had the rice prepared because it had to cool but explained the process and let us know she would email a PDF with instructions so we did not have to take notes. We made two different sauces - a meat sauce and a squid ink sauce (my fave) and made a ton of arancini! We did it by hand and with a mold and probably made 15 or so each.. Matthias cooked them as we made them so we ate quite a few as well. Afterward we sat on her deck with a little more vino and ate more arancini. Excellent experience and I highly recommend learning how to do these - they are great to take to picnics or to events where you need to bring a dish. Delicious to eat. Marcella was a patient and friendly teacher and I highly recommend taking her class while you are in Scicli as well - it's located in the center of town and easy to get to.

Incredible fun to do and really full of cultural notes, tricks and tips. Even if you are not a great cook like us, you will be able to cook arancini and cannoli yourself which will also taste delicious! Highly recommended!Thank you Siciliamo Team.

Abbiamo fatto il corso con le nostre figlie ed è stato fantastico! Oltre a insegnarci per bene a cucinare arancini e cannoli, Marcella e Matthias ci hanno accolto con gentilezza e cortesia impagabili. Fermarci con loro alla fine a degustare quanto fatto, con un buon bicchiere di vino, è stata la ciliegina sulla torta. Esperienza consigliatissima!

Had a great time doing the Arancini and Cannoli workshops, absolutely recommend if you want to know how to cook those sicilian specialities and learn also about culture.
