traghetto service

A Traghetto" is a ferry service from one side of the grand canal to the other as a substitute for a bridge. There are 5 (6?) lines currently operating. Each costs 2€ per person and takes 3 or 4 minutes to cross the canal. Operating hours are posted at each end and may vary by line. Simply Google "Traghetto" to get a listing of the stations and their location. Best deal in Venice!"
