This outing was the perfect way to end my stay in Rome. Our guide, Giorgia was wonderful. I loved seeing Trastevere, which was not a part of the city I had visited. The food was delicious and the history and street art was very interesting. I highly recommend this tour.

OK, I have found my next husband. Or boyfriend. My spouse does not mind. On a food+ tour of the San Giovanni/Appio neighborhood with Giorgia, we met Francesco Loreti at his mind-blowing cheese shop (La Formaggeria) at the excellent local market. We stayed far too long, enjoying one another's company, being introduced to local chefs neighborhood characters. Francesco loves cheese beyond measure and is humble about his extraordinary position as an international judge. He even made us try a terrific English cheese, this year awarded first prize, best in the world. And he is so cute, don't you think? But wait, there was MUCH more...Pizza with the freshest mozzarella & basil. Then pasta and a perfect frascati superiore wine for lunch at a beloved area ristorante, Roberto & Loretta. There we ran into theatre, film and TV star Leo Gullotta!!! He was sitting quietly at a table next to us, acknowledging greetings politely, comfortable because no one fussed or annoyed him.We pulled ourselves away to sample some of Italy's best gelato down the block at Riva Reno. I had two flavors - tart, fresh limone and sweet fragola (strawberry). Van had toasted pine nut and morena (fior di latte with black cherry) con panna (with whipped cream). Then we wrapped up the afternoon at the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano -- a place we have always meant to see, the Pope's first residence and church. Our guide Giorgia is such a sweet and lovely young lady from Calabria. She made us promise to visit her mountains, the sea, and other attractions in the far south some time soon. She even sent us links to some of her favorite Italian singers and songs. It was such a personal, meaningful tour - once again - from a wonderful company.

Julia was fantastic, sharing the incredible history of the Jewish Ghetto and introducing our group to the wonderful food of the area. When in Rome, do not miss this tour.

We visited Rome for a very wet week in January, and went on two food tours: Trastevere, and the Jewish Ghetto and Campo Dei Fiori. I absolutely recommend this company - both guides were fantastic. We were staying in Trastevere and went back to nearly all the stops on the tour during our week. The tours were of course food based, but also touched on history, art, and culture of the various areas. We'd booked one of the tours on my birthday, and it was a really lovely evening. We'll definitely book another tour next time we go to Rome.

Vivamente consigliato!

This is a great starting point for your visit to Rome! We did the Jewish ghetto/Navona tour. Andrea was a fantastic guide and so friendly. He had a lot of knowledge. The staff is great too and helped us when we had a booking issue. The part in the Jewish ghetto is definitely the highlight, with the history and the artichokes. You get a great overview of the main area with snacks and wine built in. The pasta place is fine but there are a lot better places than that so make sure to try others. Gelato and espresso are great, as is the tiramisu. They’re touristy places for sure but that’s okay if you’re a tourist!

My wife and I booked a the 2023 Gluten-Free Food & Wine tour and had an amazing time. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us some more out-of-the-way history of the Jewish ghetto in Rome while taking us to get amazing food. The gluten-free pizza was incredible, you could hardly tell the difference from the normal pizza. The pasta was also amazing, definitely the best food we had during our week long trip. I would highly recommend the gluten-free food tour through Food Tours of Rome to anyone with celiac.

Food tours are our favorites. This was one of the best ever. Our guide Giorgia was passionate, knowledgeable and has an effervescent personality. And she took an interest in us as people and not just tourists she was herding from site to site. We learned a lot and enjoyed many different types of local oils, wine, beer, espresso and food dishes. Skip breakfast and come hungry.Oh yea! we saw great sites such as Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo De' Fiori Market.

Gluten free food tour is not safe if you have Celiac Disease, despite marketing as such! There are many AIC (Italian Celiac Association) certified restaurants nearby, but this tour only includes one and then brings you to regular places that can’t guarantee against cross contact (asked multiple staff members at multiple stops). Truly disappointing when the website advertises “certified” gluten free foods. Our tour guide was amazing and pivoted when I voiced concerns, but honestly led to an awkward and disappointing time. Would not recommend for those with Celiac!

Had a wonderful food tour with Maria at night through the Jewish quarter and Campo de Fiori. Wonderful food at all of the locations and a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Was very full by end of it, and a great way to start a Roman vacation.
