Bologna Cooking Class

This is an experience, not just a class but so much more. Luigi met us in town and walked us to his place for the afternoon class. He was very easy going and great to talk to. He explained each dish and some history behind them. Just a great time overall. The food was incredible too! 5 stars all around.

Did the 4hr short course today and had an amazing experience and learned some new tricks of the trade along the way. Chef Luigi is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about Italian cuisine and I left with a full belly and a desire to go practise my new culinary skills! Overall we made four courses including a Tiramisu dessert. Chef Luigi also provided us with some delicious wine and cheese snacks during the course, all taught from his own kitchen. Definitely worth booking!

abbiamo preso una lezione di cucina serale con Luigi,ci è piacuto tantissimo, abbiamo avuto veramente bel tempo,È stato molto divertente, interessante e utile.abbiamo studiato come si prepara la tagliatelle con ragù e tortelloni ripieni, insalata con carne e per il dolce- abbiamo fatto la tiramisù.tutto era buonissimo, molto squisito, Luigi ha portato tutti i prodotti con la massima qualità e ha spiegato tutto con molto pazienza e in modo molto chiaro, inoltre ci ha dato consigli utile per la cucina e era molto interessante parlare con lui, Luigi è molto gentile e interessante e siamo stati molto contenti da questa serrata.

We had a wonderful time at our cooking class with Luigi! It was one of the highlights of our trip. He put together the perfect menu. It was one of the best meals we had while in Italy and we can’t wait to try some of the recipes at home. Thanks Luigi for creating a fun memory for our family!

Cooking with Luigi was one of the highlights of our trip. I do not eat dairy, which can be a challenge when learning to make traditional Northern Italian food. But Luigi accommodated me without any problems and the food was delicious. We made some great friends too. I highly recommend!

This was the absolute highlight of our Bologna trip. Luigi is so,so,so knowledgeable about Italian food and where it is from, and he is a master teacher and chef! It was such a great experience. He attended gently to different abilities and learning styles. We left feeling warmly hosted, cared for and knowing a lot more.

We absolutely loved this cooking class, it was one of the highlights of our 12 day Italy vacation. We made several dishes and they all turned out fantastic. If we ever return to Bologna, Luigi is the first one I’m calling!

My wife and I took Luigi’s cooking class and to say was fantastic is an understatement. The class was for just the two of us and a gentleman from London. All with different levels of comfort in a kitchen. The morning started off with a stroll through the open air market to pick up our supplies for the meal. We then stopped for a quick Italian breakfast; coffee and a cornetto. We then walked to Luigi’s apartment to start cooking. Along the way Luigi pointed out some interesting places. When we arrived with our supplies everything else we needed was waiting. Luigi had us dig right in and we started the Bolognese ragu which need to cook for 3 hours. Now onto pasta making, he showed us all the technique for making 2 different pastas which needed separate amounts of liquid to dry ingredient ratios. BTW: Luigi has a very friendly and playful way of teaching. No matter how long or wrong one of us was preparing our flour egg mixture he was able to keep us all on the tracks. In the end we made three dishes and a dessert. We were all left that afternoon full. I did not eat dinner that night and felt the need to climb the 498 steps of the Torre Degli Asinelli. Thank you Luigi.

The cooking class is a must when visiting Bologna.Luigi communicated very well via email before the booking and also took the class in a small group which was perfect. Cooking in a small homely space with local fresh ingredients and lots of tips along the way.We enjoyed the food we cooked all washed down with some yummy local wine. Would 100% recommend this tour.

My friend and I took this class about a month ago and it was amazing, Luigi was such a wonderful teacher!! Before the actual cooking class, he gave us a quick tour of the city and provided us with some general history. Then we picked up our fresh ingredients for the day before having a delicious breakfast. The cooking class itself was so much fun!! We learned how to make several different dishes including tiramisu, fresh pasta, classic Bolognese, and ricotta stuffed tortelloni. Overall it was such a great experience and a memory the two of us will carry our whole lives. Thanks Luigi!!
