What a terrible rental company, they guys that work there were nice but in general they had the wrong cars for us and would help us find what we needed.

The car was handed to us completely dirty, including empty plastic bottles inside and a closed plastic bag with rubbish from the previous client on the back seat. Pick up was arranged on a Sunday (we paid an extra fee for this) so by the time I went back to the Europcar office to complain, they had closed the shop since I was obviously their last pickup for the day. The man in the garage who gave me the car was not a Europcar employee and essentially and rudely said that he does not care and that I had to go talk to Europcar.When after 2 days I returned the car and complained, they said they could do nothing and that I had to email the italian Europcar customer service. I opened a complaint ticket via email and I still didn't get any feedback and its been a month already.Customer Service at its worst level.

First of all: when we got a car, fuel tank was empty. Okey they said, not a problem, return in the same condition. And they haven’t marked that anywhere until we get into arguing and upper voice. Also, in car panel engine light were appearing. And what they say? It is okey, its not a problem. Just go. Of course we argued, but they kept repeating that it’s ok. Ok, we left with car. Car was dirty, there was mask from covid left in the car. Not very joyfull moments with europcar.

Staff were very good. Inside car windshield was dirty when we picked it up. Tires were very worn. Took photos of exterior as some damage not reported on pickup. They were good about it when I dropped it off. Fiat Panda is good for 2 people with lots of luggage! Zero acceleration for passing.

Picked up and dropped off the car with little difficulty. Service was efficient although not particularly friendly or helpful. The garage is about a block down from the rental office and luckily the location is close to the edge of town so if you are leaving Rome and do not want to deal with crazy Rome traffic, this is a plus. What was irritating is that I was travelling with my wife and three kids and really wanted to make sure that I got a car with ample room for all of the people and our luggage. Sprung for the Tesla Model Y as it appeared to be the only vehicle available that would comfortably fit everyone and their gear. Ended up getting the smaller Model 3 (which did manage to fit all of our luggage due to the trunk in front as well as the hidden compartment in the back). The Model 3 typically rents for less money per day but is of the same vehicle class as the Model Y. As a result, when I asked for a refund due to them giving me a cheaper car than the one that I rented, I was advised that since it is of the same class, they can swap it out with another vehicle of the same class with no price adjustment. Moral of the story is if you rent a vehicle of a particular class, rent the cheapest one on the website and do not pay attention to the type of car advertised since they can switch it on you without notice and will charge you whatever your quoted rate is.

Horrible experience. Arrived with a pre booked (and prepaid car) and the car was not available. Was forced to upgrade the car for 1000$ more.And they told us that the car would fit our luggages. It did not and was much smaller. We struggled the whole trip.The car was missing windshield, the hood was open and was ringing the whole time on the highways. The car was filthy dirty and was scratched all over.The car service was not done and the diesel additive was not added so was giving warning signs the whole trip.I would not use them again.

Don't trust them ! My car wasn't supposedly ready and they gave me another one, who just came back from a previous rental, so they said. The car was dirty, not fully tanked and the trunk cover was missing. When we mentioned it to the staff, he said that it's often the case in Italy, to avoid the part to be stolen (!). We were naive to believe it. We ended our rental on a different Europcar station and about 2 months later, Europcar Italy debited € 296 to my credit card because of the missing trunk cover ! I send immediately an email to explain what happened, but I've got a negative answer and they confirmed the amount to be paid by me, leaving me no additional legal options.I have no other word as fraud" to describe their attitude. I'm a longtime Europcar customer and I know that their business model is a franchise

DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE!If I could give zero stars I would, the staff and service were absolutely appalling and caused us A LOT of stress on what was supposed to be a stress free weekend getaway.1) We had to wait outside the shop for at least 30 mins because the man inside didn't appear to want to serve us even though he could clearly see we were waiting.2) He didn't talk me through ANYTHING properly, I had to prompt him to discuss insurance, damage etc.3) He did not do a walk through of the vehicle before he let us leave with the car. I took a thorough video and documented all damage and ensured the video was time stamped so they couldn't claim I'd caused it which is mentioned in lots of other reviews.4) I hired the vehicle on Friday afternoon and paid extra to keep it a few extra hours on the Saturday and was told I could return it to the car park by 7.30pm. We arrive back at 7.06pm only to find the car park completely closed up, no staff, no drop box for keys. The office was closed. Our phones were both completely dead so couldn't take a note of the emergency number on the gate. I rang the buzzer several times and no one answered.5) I parked the car on the road where I'd picked it up from as the car park I was told to drop it off in was closed. I went back early the next day and was then able to take it in to the car park where a very rude man, with very poor English, insisted on taking the car without showing me any ID to prove he worked for Europcar (the car park is shared by Hertz and for all I know he could of taken it for a joy ride). I took photos of the mileage, the full tank and the car in the garage which were all time stamped.6) At 8.30 on Monday morning 40 minutes before I'm due to get my transfer to the airport I have to run back up there to make sure they'd received the vehicle as I received no confirmation either via email or phone. This time is was a different male. I tried to explain what had happened and the response was 'too bad' and then pointed out the opening times on the door despite me having told him his colleague specifically told me I could bring it back by 7.30 because I'd paid extra.7) I explained I was in a rush but he didn't seem to care and told me he would go to check the car before closing the contract. THE CONTRACT HADNT BEEN CLOSED DESPITE RETURNING THE CAR TWO DAYS BEFORE!!! If I hadn't gone back, who knows what they might have tried to charge me for.8) I was told the £100 deposit put on my credit card would be deposited back within 5 days... let's just say I'm not holding my breath.Fraudsters. Scammers. Liars. Terrible experience.

Booked a car and was informed when I arrived that the car was given away.The customer service rep displayed complete apathy and informed me that there were no other automatic cars on offer and I had to seek a car elsewhere. He claimed that he was entitled to give the car I booked away because I didn’t pick it up within 2 hours of my booking - this was not written clearly anywhere and Europcar has not acknowledged this policy. It was clearly just an excuse to charge another tourist more money for the car I booked on a really good online deal (direct through Europcar’s website).Hands down worst customer experience I’ve experienced.They should be investigated by the authorities for this misleading and deceptive conduct.
