I have just attended the school for the fourth time, which says how I highly I think of it. It's friendly and fun, but not easy. The staff are uniformly excellent. Montepulciano is a beautiful town with outstanding restaurants and of course, fabulous wine. I would suggest, if you're serious, not to come just for one week. Staying and learning for a few weeks is the way to go.

Took a three-week course at Il Sasso on a scholarship granted by the Italian Embassy. The staff were great for a first timer like myself and helped me in everything I asked for(It's that Italian culture). The class sizes were small and you could really get close to the Instructors which is great because you'd always make the effort to tell them about what adventure you were in yesterday.P.S. I was given a little apartment on the edge of the town that had the most amazing view (coming from a city person)

What a beautiful summer, experiencing the Tuscan landscape and studying Italian at Il Sasso! I was in group lessons, and afternoon private lessons for one hour. Before coming to Il Sasso, I only knew how to greet someone in Italian, and count from 1-100. Yet, by the end of one month, I have made tremendous progress and was using the A2 textbooks. This is because of my excellent teachers: Eleonora, Cinzia, Sara, Alberto and Gaia. And, if you're lucky to have Costanza as your private lesson teacher, request her! My teachers taught Italian in a living context. We were not studying just repeating grammar, but learning how to use Italian at the supermarket, and other useful situations. I highly recommend private lessons, even for just one hour, if you're really looking to improve your Italian. My success with the language is indebted to Il Sasso. Plus, Montepulciano, with all its Medieval festivities and quirks, is a memorable and unique experience. You won't regret it!

Ho appena finito il mio terzo corso al Sasso, e ancora una volta è stata un'esperienza fantastica! Ogni insegnante è meravigliosa- entusiasta e molto disponibile. Ho imparato così tanto dal mio tempo lì. E Montepulciano è stupenda, davvero un posto magico dove studiare!

I wish I could give this a five star reviews but for the benefit of those that rely on these reviews, I think some warning should be given. This is an adult language class and it will always be tough to manage with a rolling admission schedule. The burden is on the teachers to integrate the learning of those that come with varying levels of experience with Italian (and Spanish). Yes, Spanish. First, I would separate those with Spanish backgrounds from those that don’t have it. There’s enough similarities between Spanish and Italian that those students learn faster, both the grammar and conversation. For those of us without the benefit of that can lag behind in understanding and feel challenged as the class tends to move faster as those with Spanish experience want to move faster. It was becoming a real challenge when native Spanish speakers joined the class and made many comparisons to Spanish during class which was a constant distraction to the rest of us.Finally, there were disruptive personalities that joined mid cycle and they dominated the class with their interruptions and constant references to Spanish. I felt like I was watching a private lesson between these students and the teacher. At the end it impacted my ability to learn as I was more distracted than learning. Unfortunately the whole class felt the same and while feedback given, clearly not much had been done, and the damage was done. I lost a week of learning.The teachers are wonderful here and the setting is wonderful. We had a wonderful three weeks with classmates that we enjoyed meeting for the most part. There will always be challenges with rolling admissions and personalities. We are all paying clients. Unfortunately the burden is on the teachers to ensure a constructive environment for all students. Perhaps not the Italian way, but it should be a global way as I believe this is about basic respect. The school is worth considering but I hope the school also takes more responsibility for the conduct of their classes. We are after all adults, I hope that can be managed.

Il Sasso is an amazing language school. I could not recommend it enough! The class format is highly effective and helps students feel more comfortable in their language skills. My friends and family said that after three weeks they could tell a huge difference with my speaking confidence and that my comprehension improved. The school also plans excursions for its students to provide the opportunity to see other places besides Montepulciano and learn more about Italian culture. I loved all of the excursions but I think my favorite was learning how to make pasta and pici at a local pizzeria! Silvia was extremely helpful with helping me plan the details of my trip and she is even kinder in person. Alberto and Sara were amazing instructors and helped me so much with my Italian! I definitely would like to take online courses when I return home and I highly encourage anyone interested to try an online course if they are unable to travel to Montepulciano!

Il Sasso is an amazing Italian language school! I spent three months studying at the school. During that time, I learned so much about the language and the culture. I picked up so many conversational skills while studying at Il Sasso. The teachers, staff, and faculty were impeccable. Classes were so comfortable and the teachers are so encouraging. I will most definitely return to Montepulciano to go to Il Sasso again. I feel that Montepulciano is my Italian home and Il Sasso is my Italian family. Please go to this amazing school to have the joy of learning Italian at the best language school!

Squadra di insegnanti molto competenti. Deskundig team lesgevers. Nei livelli più avanzati piccoli gruppi, ideale per l'interazione e lo sviluppo delle varie abilità.Attività pomeridiane interessanti che promuovono l'interazione tra i corsisti anche fuori della classe.Ho frequentato la scuola già diverse volte e mi ci sono sempre trovata benissimo.Het is altijd weer aangenaam om hier terug te keren.
