Amazing view on the top, something to drink is not to expensive

Un panorama fantastico sul lago di Lugano!!!Lo sguardo si perde nel blu del lago, i colori delle montagne ti infondono tranquillità e pacatezza!!Per salire sul Monte-Bré ci sono due tratte:...un totalmente gratuita circa 4 minuti di salita ...(Lo dico sottovoce ...il parcheggio è un pó il problema ...ma con un pó di pazienza si trova)!!!...l'altra tratta è a pagamento ...circa 12 minuti ...un salita repentina ma bello il panorama!!!Fantastico ...consigliato!!!

Esperienza carina. Salita col trenino breve. Panorama bello e tipico della zona. Costo della salita e discesa non propriamente economico. Sconsigliato nei festivi perché affollatissimo

My husband and I rode the Monte Bre funicular yesterday and it was a terrifying trip. The emergency brakes were activated after rolling backwards twice, and we were stranded on the mountain with about 25 other passengers (1 of 2 cars) that included young families and babies without milk. For the better half of 30 mins, we were without any communication from the staff on what happened, if we were being evacuated or if it would be fixed. It was left to us and thankfully another wonderful passenger who called the Fire dispatch to see if we could get help to evacuate. When we called again to ask when they would arrive, they were told the staff of the funicular called them and told the Fire Department not to come and the staff had everything under control. They did not have everything under control and were insistent to keep us in the car rather than safety evacuate us. Two passengers we were with were Mechanical Engineers and said it is important to never restart equipment with people in it or present until the issue is fixed properly. We were held against our will and was not offered a way out, nor was there an emergency protocol or a way to open the door. We gave no consent to be held in the car on the middle of the mountain, wondering if the car would release us if the brake failed and plummeted us to die. Eventually the staff communicated with us that they were fixing the cable but we were held there for 1 hour 10 mins with the worst communication and was provided no ability to exit and the staff even turning away the Fire Department. I would give zero stars on google but 1 is the lowest. Thankfully we eventually made it down safely when they re-engaged the system and brought us back down the mountain. We were given a refund for the tickets and an apology. Two staff we dealt with were new - one there working for 5 days and the other for 1 year. These staff need more training for how to handle emergency situations and proper and clear communication. They were out of their element and lost control.

I enjoyed every moment of my ride, luckily during my tour ride my friends and i were the only ones. We enjoyed taking amazing pictures of the magnificient views. And a fun ride back with Rita our driver who is very passionate about her workplace.

Long queues, the number of places is limited, you have to wait under the sun with your children.

The ride was awesome and the view on the way up was breath taking. You can see the whole city and the lake and it's beautiful.

Expensive ride and poor scheduling (15 minute wait for the ride up Monte Bre after taking the first part of the ride up to this station), but the view on the way up is nice (when you're not in the long tunnel), and it's faster than the hike.
