Grayline I Love Rome

I recently completed a week long trip to Rome, my first time traveling abroad solo since 2004. I noticed that GrayLine Rome had an interesting assortment of tours, including excursions outside of the city. I booked 3 separate tours with them: one of the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill, one of the Vatican Museums/Sistine Chapel, and one day trip to the island of Capri. All three of these tours were outstanding. Especially if you love history, this is a great company to book with. Our guide Rita during the Vatican tour was so personable and organized, and even managed to get us in to see the basilica, which was not included in the original reservation. For the Capri trip, guide Rosella was multilingual and just so charming and welcoming, she even played classic Italian songs for us on the bus coming back into the city. Thank you GrayLine for making everything so smooth, this was a trip I will never forget thanks to your services!

Ok we bought a 48 hours. Started our tour from Vatican line at 4:40 station. It's 5:33 and we are still waiting. At least 3 buses from each company came and left. They have no operator in the station. Sucks big time.Update: other companies operator came and told us it's not coming for the day. We are leaving to get a taxi. 1hr 10 minutes of our precious time at Rome

Buses should pass every 15-20 minutes. No bus has passed after 40 minutes - all while buses from all other companies went by. After half an hour someone from the company showed up and blamed it on the traffic - which somehow did not affect the other sightseeing buses. Trying to get my money back, but company does not answer. Please google implement a 0-star option.

I do not recommend the hop on and off bus with this tour line. The wait times are absurd, ranging from 15-50 minutes at one stop. The bus continuously stops and waits for up to 20 minutes at stops, which is terrible considering there being no roof and zero air conditioning. It is definitely a rip off compared to other tour lines. AND It’s a shorter route compared to others. It was a waste of money and time.

I booked a day trip to Positano/Amalfi through Get your Guide and actually have come to be a little more frustrated after re-reading the booking. First- our trip to Positano/Amalfi Coast was good and our guide Graziella was extremely helpful and made sure our transportation ran smoothly! She was great! But- the trip felt misleading on the company's part. I read all of the reviews ahead of time so I knew the first port might be closed and we would have to travel by van instead of ferry, but I was only texted about the closure one hour after the cancellation deadline. Come to see in the trip reviews most people ended up having to take the backup option of the vans. Our driver said he does this drive daily though and online there were ferry options available that day. I’m not sure exactly the reason we couldn’t take them but it felt more of a bait and switch. It also added quite a bit of travel time and take away from our trip. For this reason, I likely wouldn’t book with this company again.

We took hop on bus on 7/23 in the afternoon because my feet hurt after a whole day walking with 97F crazy heat. We downloaded the City Tour App and it gave us a real time bus location. So, we just wait in the hotel room until the bus is nearby and hop on. The App is handy to prevent waiting in a sunny no shade bus station. The sunset bus tour with breezing winds were pleasant.

Great experience with I Love Rome tours.Francis was particularly welcoming when we hopped on at the Termini stop!Great way to visit the magical city of Rome.

Hop On Hop Off is a great way to learn about a city in a short amount of time. You can also meet fellow travellers. One suggestion is to post the exact stop locations by cross streets on their maps.

While sometimes difficult to find beforehand, the three I Love Rome guides we had were terrific. Great at explaining everything, answering questions and generally helpful. Highly recommend but make sure you get specific meeting points, like In front of Caffe Trombetta" vs just a street address or "in front of the Arch of Constantine.""

What a disappointment. We used a different bus operator for 2 days and on our last day we decided to rather use the I love Rome bus, as if is slightly cheaper. What a mistake! No aircon on the inside downstairs and the wifi did not work on any of the buses! We also waited very long for buses between stops. I will never again use this operator! There is clearly a reason why it is cheaper!
