Valerio Ferron is maybe the most talented young violin maker of the world. The workshop was a real gift for our travel to Cremona. He is always helpful and patient to explain his amazing work. If you visit Cremona make a visit to the workshop. You want regret it.

I have met maestro Valerio Ferron in January 2019 in his workshop in Cremona and from the first moment I felt that I am dealing with a great violin maker.After visiting his impressive atelier I had a chance to try his violin, a copy of Bartolomeo Giuseppe Guarneri 'del Gesù', 1740 ex Ysaye and I immediately decided that I must own one of his instruments.Finally, in June 2022 I have received my 1740 ex Ysaye model. Every detail of the instrument shows the highest skill in the violin making craftsmanship. Maestro Ferron is making each of his instruments without use of electronic tools and that makes it even more impressive.My instrument looks like an old instrument made over 250 years ago. But …To be honest, as beautiful as it gets visually, nothing can beat the sound of my 1740 ex Ysaye model. It is pure magic. Silk soft E string complimented with deep and round sounding lower register. The sound is unbelievably equal and balanced in every register. Playing on it is a pure joy. It is like the instrument is leading you and suggesting phrasing and dynamics.Currently I am a member of the 1st violins section of the Opera House in Zürich and I had chance to try lots of instruments in my career, including instruments of the old Italian Masters.My instrument of Maestro Valerio Ferron is without a doubt one of the best I’ve ever played on.I strongly recommend contacting Maestro Ferron and visiting his atelier. Ich erinnere mich gut, als ich das erste Mal im Atelier von Valerio Ferron war und seine Violinen spielen konnte. Sofort habe ich den riesigen Unterschied zu den Violinen vieler anderer Geigenbauer bemerkt. Valerio Ferrons Violinen haben einen wunderbaren Klang und verfügen über ein gewaltiges Klangspektrum, reiche Klangfarben und Register. Sie sind kraftvoll im forte, auch im pianissimo stets konkret, der Klang ist nie brüchig und absolut ausgeglichen über alle Tonlagen. Die Violinen sind beim Spiel absolut präzise und man kann sich stets voll und ganz auf diese Instrumente verlassen. Viel mehr noch: in diesen auch optisch wunderschönen Instrumenten, die ihren historischen Modellen zum Verwechseln ähnlich sehen, ist Valerios Seele mit enthalten, und das merkt man am wunderbaren Klangcharakter. Ich bin seit Jahren in der glücklichen und privilegierten Situation, zwei verschiedene Modelle von Valerio Ferron spielen zu können. Ich freue mich täglich an meinen Violinen, dank derer ich auch viele Zuhörer immer wieder in ihrer Seele tief berühren kann.Ricordo bene la prima volta che sono stato nello studio di Valerio Ferron e ho potuto suonare i suoi violini. Ho notato subito l'enorme differenza rispetto ai violini di molti altri liutai. I violini di Valerio Ferron hanno un suono meraviglioso e un enorme spettro tonale, ricco di timbri e registri. Sono potenti nei forti, anche nei pianissimo sempre concreti, il suono non è mai fragile e assolutamente equilibrato su tutte le altezze. I violini sono assolutamente precisi nell'esecuzione e si può sempre fare pieno affidamento su questi strumenti. Anzi: l'anima di Valerio è racchiusa in questi strumenti anche visivamente bellissimi, che assomigliano ai loro modelli storici come due gocce d'acqua, e questo si nota nel meraviglioso carattere sonoro. Da anni ho la fortuna e il privilegio di poter suonare due diversi modelli di Valerio Ferron. Ogni giorno i miei violini mi danno tanta gioia, grazie ai quali posso anche toccare profondamente l'anima di molti ascoltatori.

I'm proud to say that I'm a lucky person who owns one Valerio Ferron violin. I must admit I was a bit afraid to order a violin from maestro since I never met him in person, but after I've received a violin he made especially for me, I thank God every day for giving me the courage to send an email to maestro Ferron asking him if he wants to make a violin for me. The violin he made is wonderful aesthetically, looks like an original Guarneri del Gesu, but the sound of it is what has left me without words. It is powerful, full of colors and possibilities, harmonics are just what I'd been looking for for years and years. This is a perfect Italian violin and I am the most happiest person in the world.

Valerio has made a fantastic Violin (Soil-Model) for me!For one week I am now playing on my new Violin, made by Valerio Ferron. It is hard to tell you, how existed I am. I have never played on a Violin before offering such a fantastic variety of tones and colours. Everything is embedded in a warm and round foundation. That is exactly what I was looking for.My journey started in August 2018 when I met Valerio in Cremona for the first time. I was immediately fascinated about his instruments and some weeks later I ordered a new violin. End of March 2019 I travelled to Cremona again and we talked about the details of the instrument. I explained him everything I had in my mind regarding the sound. Afterwards he showed me various woods and I was able to choose the wood for my instrument. We then talked about the varnish and Valerio asked me to what extend I would like to have my violin look like the original Soil.The entire process was a fantastic journey.I do enjoy every moment with that instrument.Grazie mille, Valerio
