Gaia Bellagio

I went there because I saw very beautiful italien leather summer sandals I wanted to try. They fitted but were not comfortable so when the lady asked which one I wanted I said none. She kept speaking in italien thinking I would not understand (I took Italian lessons a few years ago), and complaining that I only wanted to try them on and had no intention to buy anything. She did this the hole minute it took me to put back my hiking shoes, describing how she had now to put back 3 boxes back to their place (poor lady, she must have been exhausted at 10:35 am, after only 5 minutes of work since the shop opened at 10:30am). Do I need to add that I was the only client inside...? Such a welcoming place...

Lack of facilities

E incredibile questo negozietto in centro storico a Bellagio e Gaia é veramente una persona splendida. Molto gentile, carinissima e soprattutto con dei prodotti veramente di buona qualità e molta scelta tra i mocassini e scarpe classiche fatte a mano. Un posto veramente che consiglio e da visitare

Stopping in at Gaia Bellagio is one of my favorite things to do when I visit Bellagio and Lake Como! I take my friends by to meet Gaia who is the creator of this very unique shop. She is always eager to spend time with the customers and she gets to know them personally. From my first visit, I knew it was a place I would always return to! The shoe designs are very unique and wonderful quality. Gaia will explain the shoe making process, and show you the many leather options you can choose from. It’s always a pleasure! When I get back to the US, my friends always want to know where I get my shoes that are clearly of a substantial quality and an interesting design without being something that makes people wonder what planet you are from!

Saw cute sandals so I went in. But very disappointed as the owner is extremely rude and wouldn’t allow me to try on the shoes and told me rudely that “this is not a supermarket!” Guess what I will spend my money somewhere else!

The selection and Quality at Gaia Bellagio are second to none. Her shoes are gorgeous as are her many purses and bags. She doesn’t brag, but most are designed by her. She calls it “her winter job”. The leather is from Florence. I came home with 2 purses and 3 pairs of shoes. I love everything I bought and can’t wait to go back next year.
