An incredible school, I studied there for 2 months and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The teachers, especially Alice, Giada, and Emma, are among the best I've had for any subject and have an amazing teaching style. I'm pretty reserved so taking a class all about speaking was a little scary for me at first but they somehow made me look forward to it everyday. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn Italian and experience life in Florence. I also stayed in their very affordable housing, which was a very nice apartment, and it was great as well.

My experience Istituto David Florence was nothing short of wonderful. The team is very much hands-on and I was very fortunate to have accommodation close to the school. However the greatest thing about my experience was their teachers; they’re simply extraordinary. Special thanks to Matilde for being the greatest teacher ever!

Me and my two friends went to this school for a total of 3 months. Overall it was a great experience. The location is right in the center of Florence with a very nice rooftop terrace overlooking the city. There is a vending machine and a coffemachine (which was used by everyone quite a lot) at the school but there is a lot of great cafés around as well. The main reason to why I'm rating this school 5 stars is becuase of the wonderful teachers. Personally we had Stefania, Martina, Giada and Giulia and they were not only great teachers but also supernice people. During the course they were always very helpful in your learning and they always made everyone of us feel very comfortable in learning italian from scratch.However the tempo could sometimes be a bit fast and at times the level of the people in a group could vary a bit too much. The groups are usually between 8-12 people and the age can vary from 18-65+. We did not get accomendations with the school so we can not comment on that. Regarding afterschool-activities they were good but a bit repetitive. There was one free activity everyday, for example a guided tour around Florence or a extra lesson about italian culture etc. Each week there was also an option of a dinner out which cost around 15€ depending on the resturant. We only tried the free options and the dinner but you could also choose to go on day-trips to Chianti, Pisa etc.One thing that could be good to know beforehand is that they only speak italian from day one (sometimes they can help with translations in english and spanish). We got a bit chocked but in the end we were actually very grateful for it since it increased our expousure to and learning of italian. On the other hand we noticed that it can cause a bit of stress for some people.To end this very long review we would once again like to thank the teachers for their amazing job and we would like to recommend this school to everyone who are excited to learn italian in Florence./Alva, Bicka and Frida

I loved learning at Istituto Il David! The staff was encouraging, kind, and helpful, and the location, right in the heart of Florence, is the perfect learning environment. The additional opportunities for all sorts of extracurriculars in the evenings was an added bonus and always a fun time! I would recommend this school to anyone looking to immerse themselves in learning Italian and meeting some awesome people.

I had an amazing time at this school there are lots of opportunities to make friends both with younger people in their early twenties like me and people of other ages. It was so interesting to meet people from all over the world with all the same passion for language learning. The teachers were all excellent at explaining complicated grammar structures and facilitating conversation to give us opportunities to practice. Both the admin staff and the teachers were all very lovely and accomodating as well. I strongly recommend if you attend the school to take part in the included afternoon activities as it’s a great way to learn about the city and it’s culture. Thanks to everyone at the school!

I participated in an Italian course in August this summer. From the beginning, everything was very well organized, I appreciated all kind of information I received and the people from the language school responded always very quickly.The school is located in the centre of Florence, we were about 10-12 people in my class. I really liked the structure of our classes - every day we first had a grammar lesson and a communication lesson after that. The school also offered sightseeing, cocktail evening and other activities after classes. All of them were in Italian but easy to follow, although I was a complete beginner.I would definitely recommend this school to anyone as the approach of the staff and organization of all the activities were really extraordinary.

My time with Il Istituto David was last-minute (so I needed to find my own accommodation) and brief but very pleasant. Streaming tests were accurate, leading to well-tailored lessons accommodating the whole class and mixing use of the coursebook provided with discussion and livelier activities. Extra-curricular options were enjoyable and educational, especially the cookery class. Everybody at the centre was really very friendly and helpful. Students varied in age from about 16yrs to mid-life and stayed for between one week (like me) and a year or more. I'd love to go back for a refresher/to learn at a higher level.

Took a 3 week standard course (4h a day, 2 grammar, 2 conversation) at Istituto David and had a great experience.The school is located right in the centre of the city, teachers were super friendly and Giada motivated me to get more serious about grammar learning going forward :)The school also offers free group activities (walks, watching films, lessons e.g. hand gestures or Tuscan dialect) as well as accommodation options.

The school is so brilliant - I did the standard course which was a couple of hours of grammar followed by a couple of hours of conversation each morning. The incredibly helpful staff place you in the correct class for your level of Italian, where you will meet people of all ages and nationalities (a very good things - you wont end up solely speaking your mother tongue and actually practising Italian). All the staff are amazing, as is the quality of teaching, the facilities and the extra curricular activities offered. I couldn't recommend the school more highly.
