Bed and Breakfast Del Giglio

Hands down the best B&B we have ever stayed at. Roberto , Laura, and Beatrice have a beautiful house in a medieval castle. They are genuinely friendly caring people and will go out of their way to Ensure you have a wonderful time. The rooms are spacious with breathtaking views. Laura's breakfasts are delicious, freshly prepared and generous!!

Stayed at B&B Del Giglio in the heart of Tuscany with my husband and sister and could not have been happier with our choice. Within easy driving distance of many Tuscan villages such as Florence, Siena, & San Gimignano the apartment was immaculate and our hosts incredible. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, and relaxing on the verandah looking down the valley of vines and olive trees was everything you would expect. The village of San Donato is charming with an amazing restaurant, Trattoria La Toppa, just steps from the apartment up the cobbled street. Roberto is a wealth of information and so very helpful, and Laura's attention to detail and fabulous breakfasts make you feel right at home. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Tuscany, and spend more time enjoying the tranquility of B&B Del Giglio.

We stayed here for two nights in July 2023 and our only regret was not booking an extra night or two! This rustic property just oozed charm from every nook and corner. The apartment was spacious, the bedrooms were cosy and clean, and our host Roberto was friendly and ever so helpful. Breakfast was served in the courtyard, which offered a beautiful view of the Tuscan landscape. There's also an underground cellar where you can chill with some beers and wines. The hosts also have a cute dog (Lollo!) and a few pet tortoises roaming freely in their garden (watch your step!). We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Chianti. We'll definitely stay here again if we come back to Chianti! Highly recommended!!

In one word :Paradise! This place is pure beauty and Laura, Roberto and Beatrice are the best hosts ever. Really kind, always happy, they will take great care of you. Roberto is a alive encyclopedia, he will give you tons of suggestions of places to visit, places to have a great meal or snacks too. Beatrice welcomed us, give us recommandations and talked about the town. And what can I say about Laura's breakfast....wow. She even made some special meal for me since I'm lactose intolerant. You will not be starving! We will go back there for sure!

Beautiful and relaxing! We couldn't have hoped for better. It was amazing to be so close to a main road but in such a quiet and peaceful place. The room was spotless, breakfast was wonderful and the view from our room was what we truly hoped it would be. We've even shown friends pictures of the ceiling in our room ! They just don't build places that solid anymore. The mother-daughter team made us feel like we were at home.

Believe every good review you read! It’s all that and more. My family of 4 loved the accommodations as well as the cute town of San Donato. Beatrice and Laura couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. We had the whole apt to ourselves having rented both rooms. Our mornings on the patio with the delicious breakfasts were a great way to start our days exploring the small local towns and wineries. Coming back to the privacy and quiet accommodation was the perfect way to unwind and then take a 5 minute walk to any of 4 delicious local restaurants. We will be back and highly recommend Del Giglio!

Sometimes travel sites show pictures that create high expectations. In this case, our expectations were largely exceeded. The views from B&B Del Giglio in San Donato in Poggio are nothing short of breathtaking. The hosts Roberto, Laura and daughter Beatrice are the most charming hosts that did everything to give us a wonderful experience. From the moment we first made contact to reserve, the responses we quick, cordial, and helpful. We communicated our time of arrival and were received by Laura and Beatrice who helped us park by yielding their own nearby spot and helped unload our luggage.The breakfast was very generous in quality and quantity with a varied choice of breads, pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs, meat etc. Roberto makes sure to remind you to give you choices the day before. The lodging was impeccably clean. You will have access to a well stocked wine cellar with a mix of local wines for every budget. Just honorably mark off what you chose and it will be added to your bill. There is so much more to say. We loved it and highly recommend!!The B&B overlooks a beautiful rolling valley, with a burgo (small village) surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. There are backroads and walking trails (not for the frail) taking you into nearby forests allowing you discover breathtaking sights of farms, villas and a swirling stream. We ended up in a little burgo and had amazing Bistecca Fiorentina at the wonderful Ristoro L'Antica Scuderia.Within San Donato in Poggio is a wonderful pizzeria La Taverna Di Ciccino, and a Michelin star restaurant, Antica Trattoria La Toppa.
