Favelas - Coffee Drink Food

By far the worst service we’ve received. Sadly, this is my first negative review, and unexpected given our first impression. The establishment is perfectly decorated, and very appealing at first glance. Upon ordering our first drinks, we were very impressed with the spread of snacks they brought out. Although we don’t eat much of what was provided, it was still generous and tastefully presented. We immediately were intrigued and excited for what was to come.Our first drinks, the naked and famous, were a bit sugary and did not have any taste of mezcal (which is a distinct taste and was what was ordered). No big deal, they were pretty tasty, and we decided to just get straight tequila to sip following the mixed drinks. We ordered one mezcal and one anejo. We loved the unique presentation with coffee, sugar, and an orange instead of the normal lime and salt. Worth a star.We immediately noticed neither tasted like anejo or mezcal. Again, being generous, we decided to just go directly to the bar and order another (instead of asking for something else) to make sure it was correct. Again, what they brought out did not taste like anejo. I went to the bar and asked “is this anejo?” The bartender/potential owner immediately started speaking quickly and rudely and the waitress translated into her phone “we aren’t returning it because it’s what you ordered.” A) I wasn’t asking to return it, I was asking if it was correct. B) that is NOT what we ordered. We were very clear, both visually pointing to what we wanted and speaking it. So, we weren’t asking for a handout, we were simply asking for clarity.Unfortunately, the waitress was incompetent and relayed the wrong order consistently. The owner wanted to take no responsibility.While I do believe the establishment is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail and fair prices, The service was beyond disappointing which taints the experience. Spend your money where it is valued.
